Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Really enjoying the porsches under the cube

How tone deaf can you be? Morale is at a decade-plus low, we've had layoffs and we're about to go into the third season of fake NSIs/PIPs, raises given out in Dec were in the low single digits (if you even got one at all) versus 7% inflation, and those who remain can't quit fast enough but...we parked a bunch of cars on the CL30+ can afford under the cube! Winning! I can only assume management is "encouraging" these posts on Linkedin.

The event celebrated a 25-year partnership between Mobil 1 and Porsche - an ongoing relationship whose lifetime value to XOM is likely ten or eleven figures. Porsche executives were on campus to celebrate the anniversary of the partnership, and Porsche arranged to have some of their vehicles displayed as part of the festivities.

The Porsche relationship, along with other similar OEM partnerships that span both luxury and economy auto brands, is a huge moneymaker that helps to fund your paycheck. Surely you can find something more worthwhile to complain about?

I think people are confusing Neal D who formerly drove a $300k Ferrari then started commuting in an AMG.

I never saw Liam in such cars when I worked on campus.

Liam “toned it down” by bringing the AMG instead of the Ferrari
It’s all overcompensation

LM had a loud red Ferrari. But more ridiculous was when he complained in a meeting about the $60k brake job it required. I looked it up and yeah the brakes are special ceramic ones that cost about that much installed at the dealer.

A couple years back the VP of USSP complained about her $14k patio furniture not being perfect.

There was mention of Liam being thoughtless by the expensive car he drove.

For those of us not working on campus:

What car does Liam drive that would be offensive to lower compensated people?

@1bpm, in addition to a pretentiously out of place Mercedes sports car and a Bentley, we will be seeing McLarens and Ferraris. Hahahahaa. The egos those people have. You can't possibly drive those things confidently anywhete the way they were designed. Just all look at me, I can drop 300K on wheels. They're lucky the carparks have CCTV or else they'd be routinely keyed.

@iyu+1foGtpm2 Yep. A giant ship with sinking deadweight, it's impossible to change direction in short order. The "not a layoff" game goes on. What does the management have to lose?

Not happy as a shareholder either - 1.1% dividend increase + $10 B share buyback (~3%). 4% is not enough to offset 7% inflation. LOL

This is a stupid comment. It was to celebrate a really strong partnership with Porsche, one of the best brands in the world. Be thankful there is a partnership with them. We sell a ton to them and they are proud to be partnered. That was a relationship
Builder with them and a chance for employees to see the cars. Stop being a d-bag. So D-mb.

It’s so you don’t find odd when the Irving folk bring their McLarens or Ferraris. You thought Liam was thoughtless, just wait to see the braggadocio of the real big bosses and their RSUs.
