Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Frank was asked directly about layoffs. This was his response:

How many layoffs have there been?

We've been working very hard on how we've taken expense out and not affecting people in a manner. We've had the benefit of having a lot of outside contractors and having a lot of outside spending. And that's really where our focus has been.

Are you saying there haven't been any layoffs?

We've reduced headcount in some sites where we shut down sites. And we've made changes, but this is not a number that we're counting, to be honest. We're working to get as much of the outside spend out of the company as humanly possible. And of course there's some redundancy when you take two corporate overheads and put them together. We also increased our revenue synergy, and we talked about $500 million in innovation investment spending. So we're reinvesting back in the business, and we're developing talents in the process.

Someone is down voting this important piece – OP didn't get a part of the quote. In response to the first question Frank also said:

We've been fortunate. We use attrition as our friend. We've always had that philosophy. We also have a large contractor workforce. And we were able to convert some of the them and we've affected some of that in a large way.

The "attrition as our friend" bit is a truthful gaffe. Don't forget it.

Pretty sure mental health awareness poster is trying to manipulate the active threads to bury ones like this.

This is what Frank really thinks y'all, and there is nothing to it but what's on the record.

First, love the sig - Bisignano crime family. Not too far off and love people with a great sense of humor. Second, my mother often said, if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say anything. In this case, I'll make an exception and I don't normally wish ill will upon anyone, even bad seeds. However, poetic justice would be that Jeff and Frank catch the rona.

Frank is a soulless POS. I worked for OFD for 21 years and instead of paying me my severance when they closed the office down they made me into a contractor which got me zero severance. I put out my resume and had a new job within a week. I now work for a way better company with actual benefits.

Frank was foaming at the mouth when this pandemic started. He realized this was the perfect excuse to slash benefits, take away stock plan purchase discount, 401k match, and whack as many employees as possible.

Cream rises to the top. Except in a toilet bowl where usually the floaters rise to the top. He's created a toilet bowl.

Well, I think what everyone is finally seeing is that Frank is a piece of sh–. Used to work for OFD and I can tell you first hand that he cares nothing about the workers. Like, I mean, care about them. He cares that they do their job, he cares about them as far as it extends to how you can help share price but nothing beyond that. The guy is a heartless soul that cares only about stock price and meeting earnings. People are a commodity and the only ones he gives two sh–s about are his cronies that will bow down in front of him. It's all a big game, it's all a small circle and you're not in it.

"So we're reinvesting back in the business, and we're developing talents in the process."

Translation:
' Yeah, I'm bringing my minions up and dumping the OFB execs... it'll be a glorious slaughter. Oh, and as soon as we can, we will hire like mad, wait a year or two, and restart the hire-spree/layoff cycle that treats you id–ts like so many squares of toilet paper, but is so, so sweet for FISV share value! You'd better pray that value goes up too, or we sell it all in a leveraged buyout and watch it burn to the ground, well, after we rape it for every penny we can get, that is. '

If you haven't left yet, leave as soon as you safely can.

What you're saying is to Frank employees aren't even a number? At least not a number that he considers important enough to count. Bet that makes the people who were recently laid off feel better.
