Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Useless Global Projects - do we really need to hire 100s every year at BTC?

The most useless people at BTC are the global projects teams, who just manage contractors all day. Each of these India. contracting companies is more capable than the tier 3 companies Exxon hires their employees from. They dont need the middlemen! This is evident in the fact that these guys we hired are happy to be here and are overpaid and get hikes when they join exxon, but they are simply pathetic and sadly thats the face of btc a lot of the org sees.

Why do we even have a global projects group? All of this can be directly contracted out these guys are just overheads.

And their audacity when they present their work saying they are the ones that make things happen and all other engineering work is just noise. Their audacity in patting their own backs showing value added in terms of the entire project costs, who hires these id--ts? If course other global projects folks. They are the slowest people at btc.

1000s of project engineers in India and 100s of expats in India to manage them, just bleeding the company away. How stupid are we to not realise how useless this part of the company is? Shamefully stupid, has it always been this way? Just looking for a rational why this GP group is even needed in the company if ALL the work is done by contractors. Their sh---y culture is ruining BTC, the type of employees they hire and the d-mb supervisors that get sent as expats.

Thats true, global projects at BTC is very poorly recruited individuals but of course the standard at ExxonMobil is fairly low so why be surprised here?

@jsx+1divuIow So true. Look at the CLO organization within HR that was destroyed by id--ts from F&L that were brought in to run the organization. They were so very high and imposed on other of what they claim of a best best learning process managment to cater to the organization. And where are they now? Go find out.

Out of everywhere I’ve worked in the corporation, GP is the most toxic, followed by F&L (but only because F&L is full of ID-10Ts)

GP is a $hit$how, both in India and USA. They are worthless, cost heavy organization. Time to move on.
