Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon and the Union better offer a decent package to rid themselves of the 99-01 people.

Employees hired between 1999 and 2001 have become a serious liability. They consistently abuse FMLA protections, taking time off with little accountability, and produce barely half the output of those hired after them. Their entitlement-driven attitude and poor performance are not just internal issues they’re actively costing us customers. It’s clear that their presence is dragging down morale, productivity, and our reputation.

Yo : @11e+1jz0j7p5z where did someone say they had a great job before ! I see they said they gave up self owned businesses and jobs not better or worse .So sounds like they wanted to better themselves.So you think after starting a job at phone company going thru the training at the time pole school ect. Getting laid off they could just go back to their old job or buisnesses???

This ‘tech’ claims he had a great job before Verizon. Why did he come here?

Claims people treated him like he was laid off. Never left to go back to their good job from elsewhere.

Talks about strikes as if their class was the only one to go on strike. 1989 ring a bell?

You ruined the job for yourself and everyone else. Thanks for nothing.

I’m one those that can’t forget !!We left careers and businesses ,trades to work for Bell Atlantic THE PHONE COMPANY .When I say even after they were forced to take us back management refused to give trucks and tools saying with up coming contract we would be off the property within weeks .That never happened but they continued the layoff treatment we were like the stepchildren.But never do I treat other employees union or managers badly or with disrespect.But no doubt you never forget how ruined they tried to make our lives in name of the mighty dollar .Followed by years of mistreatment and strikes .So get real when you say should have left for a new job

@mk so treating your coworkers like garbage is good? Have you seen the literal garbage they hired in NYC? I’ve been here since 2016 and can’t believe how bad these people are. It’s a mess that needs to be cleaned up.

@jy it's called revenge. Jeez. Is it that hard to figure out. If revenge can make you cheat on a spouse. Or ki-l someone who wronged you . Then it's probably no big deal to get revenge on the company that tried to ruin your life

Noticed that too.. I love ALL my coworkers hired in 1998 and 2002 but HATE every single one of the hired in 2000 and 2001 folks! Amazing!!

I m in that class!!! I sometimes think subconsciously it started when we were laid off ?I say what alot of people lost without warning in our younger years we never regained just the way they even sc--wed up the settlement .Paid it out in later year tax nightmare owing money owing unemployment it was crazy .In the end I think it ended up costing me money to come back by time the IRS and state got done.People lost homes ,relationships ,cars .I believe even a few ki-led themselves.So till you been in those shoes don’t judge by saying get over it .We were just a tool for company to get long distance at the time

I was hired in 2016 in NY and we noticed how bad they was from the beginning. We used to make fun of them and now most of my class left because of them. The most miserable garbage ever.
