Lay me off already! I've had more than enough of this place to last two lifetimes. I keep hoping to be on the layoffs list but no luck. It s—s that there are people who want to stay and are forced to leave, and I have no way to let them know I'd be happy to take severance and leave.

If you hate it so much, find a new job. It's really not that hard. I don't understand some people. If you are miserable, make a change.... nothing is stopping you.
What a shame and what a sham. I worked for AIG when Dupperault was an actuary. AIG was tough but punched through it all. Now a bunch of marshmallows. Thank you Spitzer. You got what you deserved but what about us?
Cognizant is a bunch of old time managers who have their own consulting companies and offer contract workforce to projects to earn cuts and commissions. Have seen it happening in AIG and other accounts . Loyal employees are laid off due to dirty politics

Mission number one is get rich quick and bring in friends to get rich quick. Whatever happens to AIG is collateral damage.
Then in a couple year, move on to the next company and repeat. Worker bees are expendable and not really considered.

Just wondering who the next consulting firm will be? First millions wasted on McKinsey and now Accenture! What a joke. Wasteful. The jobs that could have been saved. I still don't know why they hired and keep on hiring Senior Management and then continue to bring in consulting firms? I guess BD, PZ and their buddies don't really like to work but like to delegate to the consulting firms. Mean while they keep creating new Senior Management positions and RIFíng the worker bees. I guess they have a mission to bring this company down.
This is a toxic place. Accenture now fills management ranks in IT. Now that so many have been riffed, I guess it's up to them to deliver AIG200.
To Post ID: @kha+165qULCw, why would you say such a thing about severance. Why don't you wise up and realize what this blog is about. They shouldn't change severance for any of the remaining employees except maybe you.
Why Would you want to penalize someone who just got kicked out of the company with c-appy Severance that doesn't help anything especially older folks who may never get another job again and need that money. Some after staying with the company for many years and being loyal
1 week of severance per year? Are you insane? That’s completely unacceptable.
You want out? Make management uncomfortable with your existence. Question them, disagree (with tact), find flaws in things they do and make it visual\verbal to several other people....so it gets around you are not on board with managements thought processes.
They will put you on the next round.
I have seen this done several times.
They asked for volunteers years ago and too many left. Agree folks with more than 26 years are only going to get 1 year severance so better to leave otherwise you don’t get extra severence. When will they wise up and give 1 week for every year.
If you want out just tell your senior manager they will gladly add you to the list unless of course t’s all talk on your part.
I know at least 5 people in Houston that are long-time employees and they would have gladly volunteered for a package anytime over the last two or three years if asked.
But who gets RIF'ed in 2019? Me. Someone who was quite content with their employment. .
Look at Southwest Airlines. More than 4000 have recently volunteered for a buyout package...and its considered one of top companies to work for in the USA. Something tells me AIG could have easily thinned its ranks with volunteers.
