Manager Quiet Quitting

My manager has basically stopped being any sort of manager. I can comprehend doing this as a contributor but when there’s people depending on you for guidance, it’s pretty offensive.
There’s been no communication as far as work priorities, goals or current state of affairs. Team meetings haven’t existed for an extended period of time. Last minute extended vacations are a common occurrence. We have new hires that are completely lost in figuring out how to contribute.
Talking to peers, we are afraid of retaliation if it’s discussed with his manager. They are known to not abide by privacy rules.
And on a personal level, I’m hesitant to continue picking up their slack because it will just make it look like the manager is doing a good job.
Is there any solution to this or do I just follow the managers lead and su-k at my job?

Seems weird to be ok with it for IC to do but not a manager. Yes, you count on them but they are also the ones you are judged by. If they don't care, take it easy and rest up before the grind of the new manager.
