Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Just go public

One of the top 3 items of importance to Fidelity is their public image. They have been known to settle issues out of court just to keep it out of the press (when possible).
If you really want change, just blast social media with your common grievances, but do so in a professional way as to not sound angry or vengeful.
Post a few pics of the current tech org charts showing the current structure and hiring practices. Show how much of their money is subject to offshore created technology or support.
Post discrimination stories with proof.
Post layoff specifics if they are indeed unfair or unjust.
Post crisis of brain drain and fiascos of migration to cloud. Include 1/2 truths told as well as missed milestones.
Eventually the business press (if not controlled by Fidelity) will get interested and may write a meaningful article with true investigative journalism.
Or just keep bi--hing on a low read website (or just read by Fidelity employees who already know all this).

I think ruining peoples’ lives for way too long is a bit dramatic.
Fidelity is a business and like all businesses they expand and they contract.
Yes it’s terrible being laid off. But they have broken no laws letting some of their workers go.

I’ve always been surprised how many companies get trashed for poor labor practices in china and how much Fidelity relied on getting most of its real development in China regardless of government oversight or monitoring of network traffic acknowledgment of corporate espionage. Win at all costs I guess…

Perhaps this smart and brave (yet anonymous) @OP should take their own advice. I don't know, maybe the OP could at least implement one of the numerous actions proposed and than share the link here. Somehow I doubt this hero would do that, as the OP is well aware that half of the actions they listed could get them into a legal nightmare when posting on social media with their name signed.

As for the other half mentioned, most of us got that covered already. Some of it here by making posts OP described as "just bi--hing". Anonymously, so we don't get retaliated against. Sometimes a little bit vague as we making sure no laws and NDAs violated so we don't get sued, but we are leaving enough clues to aware the public on what's been happening.
Some people are collecting evidence and consulting their lawyers, I'm sure. On top of that, I'm pretty certain many others are also leaking useful info to the press. Cause they are the ones that have resources to investigate claims and mechanisms to protect their sources.

What are you going to say? They give me a 7% match and 10% profit sharing. They go out of their way to promote work life balance and push diversity to a fault. Sorry but Fidelity is a great place to work, layoffs su-k but it happens.

Word is that a number of individuals banned together at TIAA CREF and went to Gretchen Morgenstern. (Morgenstern is a Pulitzer Prize winning author, a senior investigative journalist at NBC and a former stockbroker.) Morgenstern interviewed a number of current and former employees, wrote an article detailing CREF's alleged business practices and an eventual $97 million judgement was levied against CREF. In my opinion, Fidelity has gotten away with ruining good peoples lives for way too long.
