Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Hourly Employees....this is going to pi-5 you off!

Wondering if anyone else has heard of this happening; and if so, what market and LOB? An Admin was working from home and signed in at 7:10am, but entered his/her regular time of 7:30am into Workday. He/she literally got a call from HR that day to call him/her out on it! First off, with so many 'stealing' time from the Bank, why are they so concerned with an employee working 20 minutes for free? (yes, I know about Workday policy) But secondly, who the heck in HR has THAT much time to literally be auditing people's time entries in real time??? Why are they putting such a heavy focus on this, especially for some of the lowest paid employees at the Bank??

Event Viewer on your PC will capture your exact in/out times
Use that, your timesheet will be perfect

If you are an hourly employee with a set time to clock in and out you must adhere to the "contract " unless you're eligible for OT. If you don't and you clock in outside normal hours, then you are working for free and that is illegal. You cannot be punished but your employer can be fined

My favorite part about this obnoxious waste of time and money is that they love to ask you a month after you log the time as if you’re going to remember why or what happened!

They also failed to take into consideration so many different circumstances not everybody’s role is one where you login and start working - some people do a lot of work that’s not on their laptop.!

@lfj+1q92alSC not a lie genius.. you can ask any manager who has direct reports who are hourly. Managers receive an email with the subject “timekeeping oversight -Review records alert”. It’s tied to a Workforce timekeeping report and the “Event Viewer” app on your computer (use the search bar and type “event”.. you’ll see part of how this is tracked!)

Managers have to respond to a request with justification when your workday time doesn’t align with what the Event Viewer program has logged.

Still think it’s a lie? Ask the Timekeeping Oversight team: client underwriting data analytics & reporting team > reporting support & enablement

Admins are hardly the “lowest paid employees”… they aren’t the secretary that you’re thinking of from the 80s LOL! The admin position has expanded tremendously to a very critical role.

Hmmm, I just had this conversation with my Manager last week. I asked her if there is any issue with me turning on my laptop, loading all programs except skype. Not logging onto my phone. (Call center here). I have things to do in the morning and can not wait till the last minute to get everything set up. She said no. She does the same thing.

There’s a secret program on our computers that logs when we turn on our laptop and when we shut down.. if your clocked time doesn’t align, your manager gets an email to review your time and provide a reason for the difference.

And the best part is that it’s usually weeks later, so you can’t remember the circumstances. Like.. you can arrive early, take your laptop to drop it off at your desk (let it boot up), and walk away to grab breakfast from the cafe or run to the restroom since your shift hasn’t started yet.. but they’ll expect you to clock in as if you were working. It’s ridiculous. Especially for admins who have so many circumstances that take them away from their desks throughout the day. It’s such a pain for managers to deal with too.

I think the bank has paid lawsuits/settlements for employees working off the clock and so they would rather you be paid a minute more than a minute less for liability purposes

Agree with @lih+1q92alSC. Plus, if your metrics are time based, you are inflating your numbers against your peers by not factoring that time into the calculation.

Hourly employees have to be paid if they log in. Probably a law around that. It would affect overtime as well. Legally, the bank has to pay for that time.
