Change for the better

It is true that many things here should change for the better, but I do not have high hopes that this will happen.
And yet, what change would you most like to see happen?

From the day I was hired years ago to now, the company has ALWAYS emphasized keeping payroll expenses the same year to year. This means the only way to give out any raises is to reduce headcount and make everyone else work harder. This is not an employee friendly firm and the issue can’t be fixed.

We need more RTO, and show workers why there is insanely improved productivity if done the right way.

WFH (like 90% of the survey told them we want.. but they’ll never admit it and instead continue to lie and pretend like they’re still reviewing the responses - clowns).

  1. ) De-centralize decision-making.
  2. ) Attract and retain the most talented employees by offering world-class pay, perks, and benefits. Become an exceptionally employee-friendly workplace. Create an industry buzz about being the very best place to work in banking.
  3. ) Change the corporate culture with a focus on professionalism, transparency, employee recognition, teamwork, and rewarding results.
  4. ) Stop job promotions based on favoritism. Make the hiring process more rational, process-oriented, and quantitative as much as possible.
  5. ) Downsize the bank to a more manageable level. Exit markets, sell divisions that aren't profitable. Balance cutting red tape and bureaucracy with reasonable risk safeguards.
  6. ) Stop weighing in on divisive political topics. Stick to your knitting.
  7. Address and resolve significant operational issues. When you do make mistakes, take responsibility. Make a public apology.

@kxm+1i4biDSD - well stated!! I'd add ".. or favoritism". (not all are friends, but overwhelmening number of senior/middle management "tools" who are simply at the beck-and-call of top leadership.

They just like them /b/c they do what they want - without questioning - even when it makes no sense or will not produce the results they seek.

So we languish in the Sea of Mediocrity, while the cr@p floats to the top.

People hired and promoted based on merit and proven success rather than friendship
