Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Israel lays off dozens of employees as part of global cutbacks

Intel Israel has laid off dozens of employees over recent weeks. Several projects based out of Israel have been discontinued, with the layoffs including employees across several departments. The total number of layoffs is not large considering Intel employs over 14,000 people in Israel, making it the country’s largest private tech employer, but it may signal a start of a trend that will intensify in 2023.

Dozens mean that managers are using the opportunity to unload dead weight or people they don't like. Dozens of jobs doesn't lead to huge cost savings. They are about 30k short of what is needed.

@lau, those highly experienced competent people will be replaced with cheaper lesser experienced incompetent RCG's, interns, CW's, and lower cost GEOs.

It's what Intel does.

Been there.

They sh-t themselves in Ireland when they seen how many techs were asking to take a VSP. Lots of our trouble shooting techs & trainers are 15-20yrs and are mad to get out with a cheque.

We will all be fu---d if they let them leave in a manufacturing layoff.

A dozen, all this noise about cost cutting and saving billions.

Intel is all talk and no real action, pretty much like everything else they claim they are going to do
