Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

How are we supposed to enjoy the Christmas season?

I'm usually so excited as soon as we enter December, but that is missing this year. How am I supposed to focus on lights and gifts and a tree when all I can think about are January layoffs? Did they really have to announce layoffs so much in advance when they knew they would not get done with all of them at once? Was that really necessary?

The reason they announced it so much early is because they hope people can go find other opportunities and quit so the company doesn’t have to pay them severance, bonus and warn money

Go live your life please. Don't let it impact your personal life. There is no good time to announce a restructure so you need to just find a way to be resilient and roll with the punches.

Be thankful for what you have. Citi is not our life.
