Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What is the final outcome?

The union and the company are meeting next week regarding vaccination requirements. What will be the final outcome from these talks. Will there be a testing option included? Maybe a contract extension? Will the company allow natural immunity? Or will the union cave and force everyone for the shot?

The majority of us aren't trying to attract attention. Protests can be counterproductive.
We've got our network of sympathetic doctors.
We'll show our cards. They'll check the verification sites.
We'll all go on like nothing ever happened.

@2vrr the GE walkout failed. / Ended up being just a few dozen people / no changes / just showed management there were few people who would stand and message board banter was hot air / so go ahead and try / if you don't get thousands standing with you, it will just send a message the vac opposition is a joke.

That’s kind of the point of stocks. Thanks captain obvious.

@1io Actually Verizon, is in business to make money AND grow their stock for stakeholders. They have clearly been unsuccessful at this.

@ljs+1dpUC9vr I didn't say 1% were unvaxed. I said %1 were commenting. Reading is fundamental. And it doesn't matter how much you stick together. Verizon will continue to follow the federal mandates. Understand this. They don't CARE if you leave. I personally don't care if you are vaxxed or not, but Vz is in business to make money, and one of the ways they accomplish that is through their federal contracts.

So if you don't want to get the jab and other companies are asking about it during interviews, what are you going to do for work?

There is a lot more than 1% of the company not vaxed. I would think if they all stick together it might work. But most will cave to shot or beg for exemption in gods name. The rest will fight the fight from their home based computer while not getting paid.

@@zha+1dpUC9vr I wouldn't call < 1500 comments (with many posters commenting multiple times) off the rails. That's about 1% of the Vz population.

Bottom line is people have a choice to make. And it IS their choice. Fill out the exemption or go. No amount of commenting on Vzweb is going to change anything from the company's position..

If vaccine is good mandating people who have no fact based reason to not take vax is good for the rest of us. A majority of the unvaxed are factually duped with nonsense are the reason there is mandates. It would be better with out mandates but that did not work.

What are you on about? Elon Musk? Again?

Vaccine is good. VZ vax mandate is not.

That’s all. No need for a silly diatribe.

@qnk you are more of of Elon musk alien escape earth type believer. Please tell us about drs ability to fake vacs cards and then site some risky black money backed website that supports all your deranged ideas. But Never forget your seat won’t get cold, your replacement won’t take a second to higher and your name will go on the long list of lunkheads who left the company of course they left with a package. Your only chance is to shepherd the sheep into clockwise rotation of the earth. Crazy is what crazy does good luck

@luq luq spends too much time on social media, hence bringing it up for no reason at all. Perfectly acceptable position to be pro vax and against forced mandates. You and @zha take your social media influenced “math” & made up % polls, dogma, etc. to social media where it belongs.

I’m with you @1uq even the eweb comments are off the rails citing skeptical source and Unfound claims. At first I thought company would just accept any exemption but now I am thinking Verizon would be better off with all these non vaxed people off the book. Vaccine is not a cure it is a shield that helps protect. That’s all it is, hard to believe people don’t want to help get back something normal. To Give up a job for company who could not have been more accommodating during this past 18mnths will be the biggest mistake some of these knuckleheads ever make but i now think it will make the company better once their gone, Good luck all you internet doctors

Labor unions should both be pro-vaccine & against forced mandates. That’s what most people really want.

Rumor I heard was the union is in bed with aliens who want everyone to take the vaccine so Elon musk can fly to Mars. Stay free thinkers everyone. A job is not has important as your individual rights.

The same union already gave in on the mandate for blue and tmob, why would we be any different here? All the same whining was done when blue announced mandates a month ago, the unions caved, and nothing happened. No big resignation, no protests outside 5-6 people. Just a bunch of blabbing online. People make big words online but they don't back them up. They wait for someone else to do it for them. They won't quit or actually protest, they just want someone else to do it.

There will be no testing for sure, nor will natural immunity be recognized. Sad, because no matter what side of the fence you are on, immunity is a real thing and just as good as a vaccine. Hopefully Bidens mandate is just a bluff and the union waits it out, been a long time member, but if the mandate stands, the union will cave or charge more for insurance i would guess.
