Biden vaccine mandate issued for private employers: Jan. 4 deadline for workers to get shots

The Biden administration published a rule Thursday that requires workers at large companies and institutions to get fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Jan. 4 or face weekly testing.

Persons who refuse to get vaccinated would also have to wear masks while on the job under the long-awaited regulation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration that applies to 84 million workers.

Employers must start providing paid time off to employees who want to get vaccinated and recover from any side effects by Dec. 5. Unvaccinated workers should also start wearing masks by that date, the rule says.

This board is for layoffs.

Take your id--tic little crusade against science somewhere appropriate.

"rounding people up"

Let us know when you're actually rounded up. You won't have internet access in a prison camp, but you will very likely contract COVID. Hope you're vaccinated!

I said it before and I'll say it again:

If vaccines didn't work, people wouldn't need to be here arguing that they don't work.

Yeah, you go ahead and take remdesivir and the vent, I'll take what the billionaires/politicians get. We'll see how that works out, as if we haven't seen it for 18 months now.

It's called a comprehensive response. That's what the elites get when they have a serious COVID case and they almost always survive. Meanwhile pleebs are given the limited treatment and die by the thousands. Then clown pleebs go online demanding the epic-fail treatment and talking S about alternatives.

Delta spreads regardless of status, they should test everyone. It's for safety and to reduce liability, after all.

I actually sort of understand your perspective, but this isn't about protecting children from death from COVID. Kids are mobile germ farms, and vaccinating them can help reduce the overall level of COVID virus in the community.

So I quote the literal, verifiable words from the VAERS site, and it gets downvoted by the very folks who use it? We're truly living in 1984.

lolz @ brainwashing. There's 10,000 Google search results that are pushing the pharma agenda for every one that isn't. There is brainwashing happening, you're right about that. 24/7 news cycle, dotcom oligarchs, and DC are pushing it ceaselessly. Interestingly, when the powerful are treated for COVID, it's a completely different experience than the treatment you or I would receive. Interesting how that works.

Underreporting is a limitation eh? Fascinating. Also, most VAERS reports are initiated by medical professionals, aren't we supposed to trust the doctors? Or do we only trust pols and pharma execs?

There’s no evidence they’re real either, so we should disregard it as a source completely. Well hells bells, two can play at that game.

Why don’t you go buy some Chinese white label cr-p on Amazon instead of posting? You’ll love all the totally real user-submitted reviews.

From the VAERS site:

"VAERS is a passive reporting system, meaning that reports about adverse events are not automatically collected, but require a report to be filed to VAERS. VAERS reports can be submitted voluntarily by anyone, including healthcare providers, patients, or family members. Reports vary in quality and completeness. They often lack details and sometimes can have information that contains errors.

"Underreporting" is one of the main limitations of passive surveillance systems, including VAERS. The term, underreporting refers to the fact that VAERS receives reports for only a small fraction of actual adverse events. The degree of underreporting varies widely. As an example, a great many of the millions of vaccinations administered each year by injection cause soreness, but relatively few of these episodes lead to a VAERS report. Physicians and patients understand that minor side effects of vaccinations often include this kind of discomfort, as well as low fevers. On the other hand, more serious and unexpected medical events are probably more likely to be reported than minor ones, especially when they occur soon after vaccination, even if they may be coincidental and related to other causes.

A report to VAERS generally does not prove that the identified vaccine(s) caused the adverse event described. It only confirms that the reported event occurred sometime after vaccine was given. No proof that the event was caused by the vaccine is required in order for VAERS to accept the report. VAERS accepts all reports without judging whether the event was caused by the vaccine."

Vaers is a jumping off point, and no more.

You have NO evidence that such fake reports have happened, and report it like it's fact. 99.99% of the population has no idea how to submit such a report, real or fake...and yet somehow hundreds of thousands of reports have come in. Tin foil much?

I say let's just do away with vaccine mandates altogether -- work, school, all of it. Let those who want to be vaccinated get vaccinated. Eventually the problem will solve itself. Might take a few years....

Who cares. Did they take your job? Did they say "papers please?!"? Did they take your freedom of choice? Did they come between you and your doctor? No, on all counts, because whether it was 3 guys or 10,000 guys, they don't control jack all. The federal government does, however, and they are issuing unconstitutional orders that threaten millions of people. Meanwhile, you ask if you can help build some camps to put the plague rats into while ranting about some powerless id--ts that marched somewhere.

"When you have thousands and thousands of reports, it tells the industry there's a problem that needs to be fixed."

No, du----s. It tells the industry there might be a problem. No analyst in his/her right mind would take any kind of action based off raw numbers from a site where self-reported data is gathered. It's no more than a place to start from.

Don't like vaccines? Easy enough -- go on there an report that you got a blood clot despite never having been vaccinated. See how that works?

Some of you are simply too stupid to live.

Joe six pack isn't submitting VAERS reports. Good grief. Most medical professionals don't even do it. No time and no benefit. That's why Harvard said it's 1%. But big pharma lackies think that somehow there's zillions of people out there submitting fake reports. Proof of that wild accusation? Oh yeah, there is none.

Any system where data is self-reported is subject to being gamed (especially by those with ill intent), meaning if you use the data you have to be extremely careful.

Why has VAERS never been "unreliable" before? Why has it been used to 'pull' dr-gs before? It doesn't tell you much based on 1 or 2 cases, it's like crowd sourcing data. When you have thousands and thousands of reports, it tells the industry there's a problem that needs to be fixed. That's how it's designed to work, that's how it's always worked. Now some yahoos with agendas claim that it suddenly is all lies. Gee, I wonder why. Riddle me this Batman, name any dr-g that has had more fatal adverse effects reported since the system was established. I'll wait.

The only way these id--ts are going to change their minds is if they or one of their unvaccinated friends or family members ends up in the hospital or ICU. Only then do they recant, but by then it's too late.

No, that called "The Orange One" effect. Where science is d-mb and medicine can't be trusted, and injecting bleach, shoving UV bulbs up your bu-t, and taking anti-worm medication will cure disease.

If you follow all this to its logical conclusion, eventually there will be a silver lining.

Sure. So what? I don't really care what the testing regime looks like, better than that Boris Sadecky action. Also, since the illegal mandate says testing is an option, the company must have a plan for it...if following illegal orders is their plan.
