Sales are down so let’s cut a bunch of sales people that exceeded quota. If they go down more, we will have to cut more sales folks that are exceeding quota. Makes sense.

Our leader told us that he has been advised that cuts are done for this quarter. Will probably be more next quarter unless sales pick up quickly.

That's good news. I'm in Doug's org. If they want a volunteer I'm all ears.

Doug’s org will be September. It’s $ reduction focused so maybe less numbers of heads and more high paid dead wood hopefully at L5 and L6 levels.

I have heard that sales will be impacted again along with other depts. I am seriously stressed to the point where I am not sleeping. I just bought a new house 2 months ago and Im regretting it. If I lose my job I wont be able to pay this mortgage.

@2hnr+1o6Som2H I have informed my boss of this and was informed it cannot be done.
I work in sales.
Can I ask what country you are based?

Got the confirmation from my manager that non sales layoffs in our org will happen in Sept. Not much you can do, lists are already made. Some leaders are making an extra effort to place affected people into other orgs behind the scenes, no official req or anything but open positions are so far and few.

If you are looking to hand in your notice, go talk to your manager, make something up, like "mental health break" and ask to be placed on the WFR list. You may walk away with a severance, and save someone's job.

"Dell just got fined for millions, most likely Dell will cut workforce to payoff fine.

So happy. I hope the leadership is held accountable for failure to launch the new product and not getting customers. I hope it happens this year or maybe in Feb 2024

Q2 Earnings are scheduled for 8/30. I wouldn't be surprised if the size/scope of this latest round is announced prior to that date to help reduce any negative impact to the stock price from Q2 financial results.

Yeah that article is definitely a black eye for Dell but it's not breaking the bank by any means.

Cuts are happening in September. Leader can’t give more info than that. Don’t believe it will be big enough for announcement but that’s my assessment not my leader.

@1fed+1o6Som2H Source please? Hearing from your manager or internal rumors? Also in which org? What I hear from my manager is that it's done for now and many non sales organizations also hit in Aug.

I am hearing WFR in Sept. and that the sales reorg was a pre-cursor to the greater reduction in force. Looks like another month or so of uncertainty before the remaining workforce can see how much extra work they have to absorb from the teammates that were cut. I am guessing the IPB won’t be pretty next year!

@1bwh+1o6Som2H I would think the same.
Too soon with changes to see the wood through the trees so will take time to see how new chsnges take.
I think start of Feb would make sense and then cut some more teams.

I doubt if there will be layoffs. I think there will be consolidation now of remaining teams and in Feb there will be layoffs of all those who didnt leave voluntarily.
There will be layoffs in feb 2025 for sure depending on how well the new business units perform next year.
