Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Why is AT&T stock dropping so much?

AT&T stock took a significant hit on April 20 after the company's first-quarter earnings showed slower subscriber growth, the analysts noted. Shares lost 10% that day, their largest decline in more than 20 years, according to Dow Jones Market Data. In addition, the threat of competition has shaken telecom stocks.

Writing is on the wall folks, just wait until the next earnings report.

Dividend was just paid out, always drops at that time, 4 times a year (not counting all the other drops caused by reckless management).

Why is the stock value dropping???? Hum, let's see..... could it be the 20+ years of horrendous business decisions.... maybe it is the uncompetitive prices ..... maybe it is the employee morale that is lower than whale excr-ment..... maybe it is the self-serving mo--ns that are running the place.....

AT&T is a sad story to tell, I think Netflix should make a documentary about the fall of T, from the world first phone company leading the technology and driving innovation to the downfall to nothing more than old outdated infrastructure company, with long history of bad leadership and poor judgment

I wouldn't be surprised if T hits a 52 week low of $10 by year end and that's not only sad, but disgraceful from a management standpoint! The entire BOD, CEO and President should all be ousted by the shareholders!

T has been down every day for the last 6 days in a row! Not sure what is going on with this company, but Wall St. hates it because it under performs the rest of the industry!

Some people buy the stock when it is up. Some people buy the stock when it is down. Some people just complain about the stock price even though they don't know what the stock market is.

Bad leadership. Massive debt. History of bad judgement buying investments and selling at massive losses. Take your pick.

My Fidelity advisor in 2017 suggested to sell all T stocks, I did for 32 dollars a share that time and invested the money in blue chip shares
Was a good call

Stock is dropping and will continue dropping because the company has no future, the balance sheet is not showing any hope for good future
The debt and liabilities are multiple fold of the company asset values

Whoa a lot of people missed it. The stock was high when interest rates were low because conservative investors like retirees and mutual funds needed the predictable income our dividend provided. Now that you can get a CD at 5%, there is no reason to risk your principal on a dumividend paying stock.

Aipickup.com has our stock for decades to come around $9. It hurt knowing as the toxic leadership ordered the quality RBOCs to “shut up we bought you” we were trading near $30. Anyone know of any class action lawsuits I can join to recoup any from the golden parachutes?

Forgot the plagiarism. But he-l, you might as well have just pasted a damn link to another old article. At least let us know that you're incapable of independent thought and commentary and don't have anything to contribute on your own.

Stock price is simply a reflection of overall sentiment in a company, and whether or not investors are confident that the company is well run, able to navigate difficult times, has real potential for growth, has positive customer relations, is innovative, and has positive standing in overall public perception.

Now, which of those things apply to T?

Exactly.

@mct+1nyJcyR0 even if they get "canned", they leave with their complimentary golden parachute. Look at David Huntley .. he left with MILLIONS.

Have you noticed how the top brass never get canned. Even if they did would they care after making millions upon millions.

So let’s put one of leaders who created the debt put the plan in place to pay it down….good idea.
Even if they pay it down, the next sacrifice will be to buy back 3 billion shares in order to be more inline with Vz.
Good luck collaborating on that initiative over the next twenty years.

Leadership doesn't the first thing about this business, They only know how to layoff people and give themselves golden parachutes.

I spoke with a senior leader who recently jumped ship said it was the debt and T's plan to pay it off. Stock will continue to fall as investors take their losses and will find an equity firm to buy the company.
