Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Where should cuts be made to improve profits?

There are a more than few areas that aren’t adding value.

It’s good news that FordLabs is gone, nothing of value came out of that experiment.

Ford Next and Canopy should be eliminated, they are dragging down profitability by $5 billion annually.

The “Executive Leadership” ranks should be trimmed by two thirds to match industry competitors.

These ideas save at least $6 billion to add to our bonuses. What others?

We know Farley reads this site, perhaps he will respond?

@3gei+1sNqEpww - you keep cutting and pasting the same text. Go back to your supposed renovation project or go pound sand.

Please don't cut me out. I have been able to work from home since 2020. I finished 5 different home renovation projects and still able to call into weekly team meeting. I can go boating with my friends and family anytime, take vacation, and sick days anytime. I love my job. 10 more years and I am ready to retire.

“Free” train station parties. Nothing is free, either shareholders are paying or it reduces employee bonuses.

Cut a large percentage of the vast herds of management and executives.

@2vnr 2025 will be interesting, if Farley lasts that long. Both Stern and Field think they are next in line to be CEO…there’s going to be a showdown at the No Quality corral…

I heard Stern wants to shut down Next, but since it’s Farley’s baby it won’t happen until Farley is gone, in October 2025 when his contract is up.

Ford creates positions and "dotted line" reports for LL's all the time in order to protect them, while many of the GSR's are stretched as lean as absolutely possible. Micro management is the name of the game because of the lack of true leadership and vision. We literally have LL3's, 4's, and 5's walking around complaining about asthetics. What!? They have nothing better to do than worry about how the place looks? And it's not just one, as one will have someone move a box, and another will come around 10 minutes later and tell someone to move it again. First you might think it's nice to have that kind of time, but plenty of evidence indicates they don't. It's just how they choose to spend their time when they don't know what else to.do. Planning is non exitent due to a lack of leadership and vision. Ford wastes a LOT of money on poor planning and vision. It would be funny if it wasn't true. If you're a LL, you're part of the good 'ole boy club. Even if they're absolutely incompetent they typically get a warning and 2 years to turn themselves around or find a different position internally.

Definitely at least 70% of LL6+ shall be dismissed. All those I know aren't qualified technically. As for management and leadership skills, they are dramatically lacking. We really su-k.

@1zrv+1sNqEpww - I know you're joking, BUT... there is some truth and those that got caught paid a heavy price (and their LL6s too).

@mvt+1sNqEpww this is so true. they had a video of Hackett on some news show when he was supposedly in charge on the terrace at the top floor / roof and you could see the cracked spalling concrete or plaster or whatever that stuff is and rusty water leaks. embarassing.

All LLx levels could easily be reduced by 1/3 or more.
GSRs, eliminate all who were "below expectations" on two consecutive PRs.

It was jn Henry Fords original contract that if the property is sold it cannot be developed and will become green space...

Green space? in the 1950s? wow old Henry was so ahead of the times back when the. majority of the area was still rural. he probably was thinking about carbon taxes and climate change too.

its going to make a nice park, im the city has that earmarked already

Ford WHQ has been sold to city of Dearborn. It was jn Henry Fords original contract that if the property is sold it cannot be developed and will become green space. Thats why the monstrosity of PDC is going up and yes the train depot as well. Just a matter of time

@mvt then all WHQ employees will pay Detroit City income tax of 1.2%, which comes with zero representation. I’m sure this won’t be happening to Farley’s paycheck.
