If this First Republic deal goes sideways....

There's going to be boatload more layoffs than already expected!

Ahem, given the number of fines and our dwindling the trust with the Feds why would they trust us with someone else's customers?

inflation always comes from higher demand.

We have been outsourcing our inflation to India and China, for both cheaper and goods, at least 20 years.

This successfully pushed down prices. We have been printing money with no consequence and our corporations are addicted. The only price is your job.

So the population wasn't growing when inflation / food prices were low and relatively stable? Good grief.

BofA will be purchasing signature bank on Monday. Feds may make an exception for wells to purchase a bank. given our California presence we make a good choice for FRC

There is inflation because...
(1) people need to eat. More people means we need more food and supplies, and (2) we are borrowing and printing more money.

US Population is increasing:

Fed's inflation easing using higher rates will be transitory, we simply have more people...

Arguably phase II. Phase I was pushing the dotcom bubble into real estate. The can will only be able to be kicked so far down the curb.

Historically what happens in the near future is the dying power ends up at war with the rising power.

Were you alive in 2009? That was phase 1 and the lightest impact. There will be more.

I think we gave money cuz peer banks did. We couldn't possibly have not when the other top 5 did (insert sarcasm). But, I don't think we can acquire any part due to asset cap. I think First Republic will be sold off in pieces to the other banks. Our layoffs in US will continue due to offshoring. That's what people need to focus on. When your team has more people in India than US, is just a matter of time.

Lol @ "economic collapse".

Predicted so many times in my lifetime, yet it never happens. Just like the deity's son returning.

Shocking. Layoffs during an economic collapse? Who has ever heard of that before?
