VMWARE WFR is in the news again.
Timing of WFR at VMWARE and Dell seem to happen at close to the same time. My buddy says Dell’s WFR started yesterday?
Dammit! I was optimistic the decline in Covid would open up near term hiring.
Anyone here have a real update about possible Dell or VMWARE HIRING for sales jobs or is another WFR really underway?
Timing is everything. Stress is real.

Had 3 folks laid off just last week in sales. One was middle management. So, yeah, they happened.
I lived under threat of layoff for twenty years until it finally happened. I'm so glad to be out of Dell. Such a negative environment.

There are many postings on the Dell career site so they certainly look to be hiring. If you want to work here then put in your resume - you will have a better chance than the person who does not!
@kyv+19fiY2gX - From what I have experienced and heard most layoffs are not officially announced, they just continue in some fashion quite often. Perhaps doing it this way they think it keeps the company image sparkly?
@mzw+19fiY2gX - It could very well be that their HR/media-relations/lackeys are pumping up the company on social media, including Glassdoor. This would not be the first company to do so, and certainly not the last.
Dell and EMC have still not completely merged financially , pay check still says EMC . Also the VMware spin off is coming later this year .
I have asked to be laid off numerous times. I came from the EMC side of things. I am disappointed that Dell doesn't do what EMC did with the VSP (Voluntary Separation Package). If Dell offered the VSP I would jump on it. I am just waiting for the check to clear on the March bonus payout and then I am going to resign.
How come Dell is so highly rated company? Glassdoor rank of 4.1 means almost everything is perfect in the company in terms of business and in terms of people & culture. And Michael Dell certainly is a loved CEO with 94% approval rate. Everybody should be wanting to work for Dell..

I know that Dell is promoting people and allowing people to make lateral moves (based on what I see internally and what I see on LinkedIn). I have not heard of any official WFR announces from Dell, and from I have heard none is forth coming
