Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Any thoughts on SPTD

Sptd just had a CPM last month and lost a good amount of people. How much lower will they go in this group or chandler site ??

I heard it all depends on the budget allocated to your BU for this year. If the VPs can manage the expenses without exceeding the budget, layoffs might be minimal in your BU.

Hope they cut the right projects with some good ROI analysis.

You are correct, all BU's are affected. But BU VP's have discretion as to what groups within their org will be exempt.

Read FAQ all groups affected except Altera and NAND. The retirement option will all folks to leave and applying is guaranteed you will get it.
I expect most of the 15K will be made from this retirement pool

CH4 test floor? That would be odd given the product mix they run there.

Word is 7% of SPTD took the offer, but in general needs to get closer to 30% total. Rumors of CH4 being shuttered entirely, but haven’t heard the same about the SPTD factory

What is a "good" amount of people? You weren't in the group dismissed so it was good.

Chances are there will be more in your group and the Chandler site has a lot of employees so it will get hit pretty hard.

This site is far from a place providing concise answers.
