Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

What goes on in China, Intel's largest market in the world, could potentially k--l off Intel

https://www.tomshardware.com/features/zhaoxin-kx-u6780a-x86-cpu-tested

The KX-7000 series, next iteration of Zhaoxin's X86 chip with its natively developed microarchitecture is due to be manufactured on TSMC 7nm with DDR5 and PCIE 4.0 support.

All it has to do is to be "good enough". Then the Chinese local consumer market shifts to that. Government orders, of course, are mandated to be 100% Chinese-designed chips to avoid possible foreign back-dooring.

(Even the current gen Zhaoxin, with its c-appy performance and 16nm TSMC process, are already inside Chinese-specific servers by the likes of HP and Lenovo right at this moment)

You don't have to be a genius to figure out what happens to Intel's profits after that.

Just for reference... a fact:

Intel net revenue by country, 2019:
China $20.03 billion
United States $15.62 billion
Singapore $15.65B
Taiwan $10.06B
Rest of the whole world: $10.61B

  • get ready to lose that big huge hunk o' Chinese change, and see what happens next

@1mff+18Rc0n00 I have to laugh at what you say. Every time.

Why should I arse myself to change Google feed settings? Just because you don't like it when I see stuff? Oh get off it.
Oh I'll bet that your answer to layoffs is "you're not talented". Congrats for a slap across the face to pretty much everyone in the forum, bucko. My replacement overseas where they're hiring the position back is "more talented", I suppose that's your rationale for every buck saved. Genius.

  • and what YOU'RE doing is healthy? Like I've said, take a look in the mirror, pal! What are you doing wading in here, oh don't say it's out of the goodness of your heart and "for the good of everyone here". Take your b—s— and shove it. I'll be here just to kick your arse, now that you've mentioned it. How about that?

You were terminated in 2020 when Intel was already struggling to retain talent. What does that say about your talent level? Why do you still subscribe to news about Intel when you hate it so much? Some venting is healthy, but for the 10 or so people that come here everyday and down vote every neutral or positive comment about Intel, what you're doing is not healthy. It's like being denied a seat on the Titanic, then cheering as it goes down. It doesn't help you and it doesn't help the people on the Titanic. You're better off investing your energy getting on another boat and try to save as many lives as you can.

@nmn+18Rc0n00 where do I begin?

  1. What do you mean "you guys"? Just in case you didn't notice, there's more than one person typing and my comments had nothing to do with HR.
  2. How do you know which people is on the forum? My termination was 2020, not "several years" ago like you've said.
  3. "Scour the internet"... Excuse me but have you heard of something called a "Google News Feed"? You know, that page that pops up every single time you tap on that Google icon on your smartphone? It takes absolutely zero effort to see these stories.... THEY SHOW THEMSELVES IN THE FEED, GENIUS.
  4. Go take a look in the mirror, because you're the pathetic one, lambasting on people that have been brushed aside after years, even decades, of hard work. That's how Intel "THANKED" us. Develop a little bit of empathy lest you're a regular sociopath! Perhaps that's a bit too much to ask, but why don't you step aside yourself and allow some people one little space on the Internet to vent- WHAT'S IT TO YOU?

You guys associate every criticism of your actions with HR because you don't see yourself as the problem. I no longer work for Intel, but I still find your actions pathetic. Intel let you go and after several years you still can't move on and find better things to do with your life other than scouring the Internet for news negative to Intel everyday and sharing them on this forum. It's like a bunch of teenage boys rejected by the same girl, so they get together everyday to share negative info about that girl. Except the girl isn't even that popular or attractive to begin with. Intel is small potatoes in the tech world now. You're the only ones still secretly in love with it.

The responder at the very bottom of this thread below typed out of pure ignorance. For example, the division head directly responsible for my department's layoff was forced out mere weeks after my departure. Me and my colleagues were high performers that just did our jobs, we don't "toot horns" or kiss up. It would've honestly made me feel better if it WERE about performance or if it WERE actually about "the budget" instead of DIRTY COMPANY POLITICS

OP is a very bitter laid off employee with lots of time on his hand. I used to think Intel wronged its employees with the layoffs, but based on activities in this forum, I really don't think there's anything Intel could've done differently to satisfy these entitled former employees.
