IT is going through a bunch of work to redesign floors in 1400 and 1500 as there isn't enough space for everyone currently. They are even looking at scheduled days in where some people are in on Monday-Tuesday and others on Wednesday-Thursday. This becomes an issue for in-person collaboration. They are looking at expanding the hoteling model with lockers to put your personal belongings.
Quit complaining. Hybrid schedule with every other Friday off? Most people would be grateful for that since 9/80’s are not common anymore.
Yes Indeed that would be mighty fine to come in one week then get one week off, which is what WFH is for us. Good deal!
BP have 1 week in office and 1 week WFH. I Hope we get to do that too

Fake news. Not enough space for everyone in Houston towers with windows being out or in San Ramon. Other sites like MCBU, Richmond, El Segundo have already moved to hotel model and don’t have space.
The problem is CVX is too nice. We say "go in 3 days" and everyone has "a doctor appointment" or "a perent teacher meeting" or "I need to let the AC guy in" during those 3 days. Forget about the other 4 days you are at home.
So finally management has had enough. Too many people skinned the sheep instead of shearing. Its back to the 4/5 days in the office. Sorry if you moved out of state thinking hybrid would last.
The thing is some will quit, but with no severance thats a win. If you are in the office and actualky work out of sheer boredom its thats a win. The fact that you have to spend another 4 hours commuting they dont care. Why didnt you just buy a home in West U, River Oaks or Bellaire?
@2nqc, Except that what you stated is false. Both ROCE and ROIC reached it's lowest in decades during the pandemic. You need to stop lying to being with then you can get to the part about WFH had any effect on it, which it likely did, in a negative way.

CVX ROCE was highest in 2020 - 2021 when remote work was going on.

Here's the update: It's over everyone needs to get back to the office. If you don't like it and refuse to come in, then you'll be fired. MW can find more willing participants.

In office is just a tool to cull the herd. If people quit they dont have to pay severance. Then the role is outsourced or not filled at all.
I agree, I get Way more work done at home than when forced to come in. In the office, like most say, I'm pretty much useless. At home, I have been remodeling a guest bedroom and bath for the last 8 months and it's incredible how much I can accomplish during WFH. I will have them available to rent out soon for extra income so win-win!

I tell everyone at the office when they ask that I work more hours and I get way more work done at home too.
I hope that means something. I really don't , I F-off all day at home like everyone else but maybe if we keep repeating that they will start to believe us, lol!
I work longer hours when working from home. I would be all for this if I thought this return to office would actually impact the company in a positive way or turn things around. I don't see how that's the case
@1uuc Sounds like a boot li---r field worker. How about to join us office workers in solidarity you no longer get overtime pay and still work the extra hours. Sounds fair to me!
All companies are bringing folks back to work and should. Lo0k at Sales force, google etc. Suggest you WFH id--ts all get over it but do feel free to find that dream job elsewhere if you're really not happy. It is time the company just stop pandering to the whines and did what is best for results. Disgruntled people can easily be replaced by people who would love the chance to work for a company like Chevron. Grow up or go away.
News flash - we could be at the office 7 days a week, and it’s not going to fix anything. The problems are systemic.
Again, F off. There is soooooo much good data to support a hybrid schedule, and actually fully remote work as well, but we all know that’s not an option.
If this rumor Is true, I would expect our leaders to have a solid, data backed, rationale for the change. More than that they can’t trust their employees.
Managers already have other tools to use for poor performers. Good, effective employees should not be penalized for poor employees, who will continue to be poor employees even if they are in the off ice.
If you want to have an honest conversation about where work can be done, then let’s go, but if you’re argument is that work can only be done in a cube in front of a supervisor, then again, get f’d.

@lgv, The fact that you think these off hour meetings are not happening tells me all I need to know about you. Most high value employees are working pretty regularly outside of work hours

That's fine. But I will not be taking those early morning and after hours meetings anymore if I am going to be driving to work every day.
Oh STFU, we have successfully worked from home with the hybrid schedule for years.. we are getting our work done and doing it well.
If you’re a bad employee at home, you’ll likely be a bad employee in the office.
If this is true, it’s just going to punish effective employees, and the poor employees will continue to be just that.
And if the change is true, they better bring hard data to support the change.
Our peers still offer hybrid so it’s definitely not competitive in our industry.
So Chevron wants to ensure that all of their employees are actually working the entire workweek that they are getting paid for instead of walking the dog, watching the kids, going to the park, etc. Wow. what an incredible concept. Can't have that, lol! no one will want to apply for that type of "Job" lmao!
Unfortunately this is true. In- office Workweeks will go back to 4 days, M-Thursday, like before Covid. It’s a real bad call for talent recruitment and retention. Makes us a lot less desirable employer in an already tough industry (talent wise)
I just want to “work” from home all week! I don’t ever want to go back to the office.
Yes, we will be implementing survival weeks whereby a team is sent to remote mountains and desert environments to form bonds or lose hated team members, all while keeping workday up to date via starlink.
Management will have corporate sabotage Fridays whereby they find new ways to fu-k up and mismanage large projects.
