Uh oh, there goes the Lightning

WHEN WILL FARLEY BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE???

In a blow to the company’s growing EV ambitions, Ford (F) today confirmed it is halting production and shipments of its F-150 Lightning electric pickup due to a potential battery issue.

"I can confirm a Stop Build and In-Transit Stop Ship for F-150 Lightning,” Ford spokesperson Emma Bergg said in a statement. “As part of our pre-delivery quality inspections, a vehicle displayed a potential battery issue and we are holding vehicles while we investigate."

The production and shipment halt was first reported by Motor Authority.

@1tst

Ford spokesperson Emma Bergg is quoted in the OP’s comment. Are you accusing her of making this up?

This is all heresy until Ford corporate communications makes a release with detailed information. Don't get fooled by the click-bait.

Your Ford EV will not charge to its full capacity. The battery may catch on fire if you plugged it in overnight. Loose connections and mounting brackets internally to the battery. The battery cells are failing. The Ford battery packaging is the worst in all EV vehicles. Poorly designed and assembled. Need I say more?

If it's going to be soooo successful. You don't cut jobs. You add. The e.v. is just a scam. The market tells you what it wants. You can't force something on the public that it really doesn't want. Remember in the 80'S when we were all told the V8 is done ? Too much of a gas hog. LOL

What about the failing Super Duty engines... If you ordered a Super Duty and it has more than 25 miles on it don't accept it.. just pass... It was part of a quality audit. Seems the engines might be missing some pieces that may or may not cause an catastrophic failure. Jim Farley said ship em.....

@nux+1lbWJuL5 you're an id--t. We've heard this for years. "The next Explore, the next Escape, the next F150, the Mach-E, the Lightning will be awesome!"

We aren't falling for it. Model e has no chance of delivering a quality EV for at least 15 years.

Like a cat, one of the culprits lands on his feet. HTT owned purchasing and now he lands at one of his vendors? Hmmmm. No accountability with the leadership team.

As Ford Authority reported last year, Hau Thai-Ta-g – a 34-year Blue Oval employee who last served as Ford’s chief industrial platform officer – retired this past October. In his time at FoMoCo, Thai-Ta-g headed up the design, development, and the launch of the fifth-generation 2005 Ford Mustang, and also led product development and purchasing organizations amid a number of key product launches such as the Ford Bronco, Ford Maverick, Ford Puma, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Ford F-150 Lightning. Now, Hau Thai-Ta-g has decided to put his experience and knowledge to good use after joining the board of directors at BorgWarner.

“We are pleased to welcome Hau to BorgWarner’s Board of Directors,” said Alexis P. Michas, non-executive chairman of the board of BorgWarner. “Hau’s extensive industry experience and his forward-looking perspective around electrification transformation make him a solid complement to our board.”

Ford and BorgWarner have long enjoyed a prosperous relationship as manufacturer and supplier, too. As Ford Authority previously reported, the Ford Mustang Mach-E utilizes BorgWarner’s Integrated Drive Module (iDM), which enables an efficient, smooth ride capable of handling 4,278 Nm of axle torque and input speeds up to 13,800 rpm. The company also supplies transfer cases for some of the most popular four-wheel-drive FoMoCo vehicles, including the F-Series, Explorer, Expedition, Transit, as well as the Lincoln Aviator and Navigator.

This is not a full Model e product. Lightning was mostly developed prior to Model e was formed with Doug Field as lead. Plus, Lightning was mostly based on a ICE vehicle. This will not be the case with full Model e products.

Issues like this will be reduced if not eliminated with our next gen EV's which are Model e with no or little Ford Blue involvement.

Accountability! When will Farley be held responsible. Or will Baumbick take the fall just like Raj Nair and Joe Heinrichs !
Terminate Farley. Terminate Field. Terminate Louis-Victor. Ford family, save your company and the jobs and livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of humans.

I thought Model e was all unicorns and perfection, apparently they have issues they can’t even identify.

The is what happens when focus on the product and execution is secondary to acting like a mobility and technology company. Designing and building cars is a very complex engineering and manufacturing activity. Apparently mechanical and electrical engineers are redundant in this EV era.

Whatever happened to testing a quantity of product pilot vehicles in order to root out problems and issues why wouldn't you make 100 of this is something new this is turning out worse than the F150 aluminum project Which was way more expensive than they realized And a total waste of money the light weakness doesn't do diddly for the mileage

Good thing we still have engineers to fix problems, they could have possibly solved them before production.

“The nature of the battery issue was not disclosed by the automaker. Bergg said the potential issue was identified as part of Ford's pre-delivery quality inspections. Bergg wouldn't elaborate on the potential battery issue. The engineering team is currently establishing the root cause of the potential issue.”
