Anyone get laid off 2/6? I got my pto payout on 4/5 plus a regular paycheck. I thought we were to maintain the regular cycle, i got paid early with no notification. So, i expected to be paid on 4/12. I wasn't. my next payday is 4/26 confirmed.

In some states (e.g., CA), PTO is considered wages. PTO can be subject to a cap (maximum accrual), like at WF, but it MUST be paid out in a lump sum if an employee leaves a company voluntarily or not.
In those states, you can carry over your PTO balance each year as well (up to cap) while working for employer.
It s/b this way in every state. "Use it or lose it" (each year) is a sham. Employees earn that time.
The first check had weird timing. And yes, to the other poster, unused PTO was included in mine.
How does health insurance work?
So they pay you for unused PTO balance??? I was wondering how that works. 🤔
I was laid off last year. After the PTO paycheck, I had to wait 3 weeks instead of 2 to get my first severance check.
