Thread regarding Southwest Airlines Co. layoffs

This is not a Southwest's crisis, this is an industry wide crisis…

This is horrible and sad but we have to survive as a company. Every single company around is cutting 70% or more flights. People are being sent home, furloughs and some temporary layoffs. Some companies are having permanent layoffs. I think that we are communicating well, people know what’s happening and we all know it’s hard.

Now we need the government to step in and do their part.

government bailout for the airlines?? hell no! the airlines ( and it's employees) have been living on easy street for years with their union (constantly making demands) and getting paid a pretty penny for it ............all good things come to an end. do what everyone else is going to have to do and figure it out yourself!

It's everyone's crisis. Things are so bad, it's unbelieavable. They may as well shut down some airports.

"Now we need the government to step in and do their part"

Obviously you don't have a TV, the Internet or a Smart Phone to see the news. There have been multiple GOVERNMENT (Fed, State, Local) briefings stating that relief funding has been discussed, and IS on the way

When you get your $1000.00 from the GOVERNMENT, maybe you can invest in a device so you can keep up with the times
