Medical/Religious Exemption

I filed for a medical/religious exemption for the vaccine mandate. I have been waiting quite a long time now and haven’t heard a peep from HR. Does anyone know the expected timeframe? Has anyone heard back that filed for one?

Scared they are just waiting to see how many people do it before they choose how to handle the requests.

just get vaccinated and we can all move on. I am sick of those who think they fight for breaking down " the big game" that no one understands, they are the only ones to see it, the rest is sleeping in compliance! Pure ignorance! this is a public health issue, look at the kinds you are associated with in your protests, all sorts of extremes from all fringes. yet you are accusing everyone else for being the exact same thing you become. pathetic!

So it looks like they will just delay the approval process until the actual deadline and badges are tuned off. Might as well consider that you'll be leaving soon at this point, pretty cr---y of HR to treat the process that way, they did offer the accomadations so honor it.

Yes--Faith in the justice system alone, is zero. Faith lies in the people who wake up and fight it. Think bigger. I am part of 2 Pro Se lawsuits already in Oregon (and more) with hundreds of others, there are thousands right now nationwide. 48 States filed Writs of Mandamus against their states as of 2 weeks ago. People who know their constitution, and yes, they are winning slowly, because we are only free on paper. Go back to your corrupt alphabet channel news if it makes you feel safe--you really don't have any idea what is going on. In 5 years you won't believe how blind we all were when you look back.

I do know this didn't make the news now, did it? Watch at 1:04:00. These testimonies are why the mandate is now halted. 'Some' know how to fight. Corporate giants like Nike don't want you to know how to, they are part of the machine.

@2dbt
You seem to place a lot of faith in our justice system upholding our constitution and looking out for the rights of people who can't afford to buy off politicians. But go ahead and spin your wheels.

The employer is obligated to the Constitution, doesn't matter what the fine print is. This could expose their 'fine print', and it must be challenged. "Neither the legislature nor any executive or judicial officer may disregard the provisions of the constitution in case of emergency...Section 98 therefore, ANYONE who declares the suspension of constitutionally guaranteed rights and attempts to enforce such suspension within 50 independent, sovereign, continential United States of America is making war against our constitution(s) and, therefore, we the people. " ~ United State Supreme Court, 71 US 2 (1866) Ex parte Milligan. "All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void. Marbury vs madison, 5 US (2 Cranch) 137, 174, 176, (1803). Ask for 'Nike's fine print'. CHALLENGE IT.

Go back and read the fine print in your employmwnt contract. An employer can put conditions on your employment. They always do and already have.

Also, they are not demanding ALL get vaccinated. They are offering options and accommodations. So any of your fantasy lawsuits will be dead in the water.

Just go find another job.

I think if exemptions are in large numbers you all will be better off. If anyone hasn’t filled one out, I’d wait and do nothing and see if they fire you citing that you would not consent. Then you would more likely get a severance AND be able to sue. Oregon’s ‘exception’ form was written by a Constitutional lawyer, this should say something. Firing due to not consenting is ILLEGAL. You can sue based on: 1964 civil rights Public Accommodation laws, ORS677.090 Practicing medicine without a license, ORS 163.275 Coercion, Original US Constitution 1st & 4th amendments, Oregon State Constitution Article 1, section 1,3,4,8, 42 USC 12203: Prohibition against retaliation and coercion interference or intimidation. A mandate is NOT law. The People make law and government works for us. Executive Orders aren’t even law. The governor can not make law. OHSA and the OHA are private companies for profit and do not make law. Sh-t, if enough of you told Nike HR to shove it and just fire you you’d have a he-l of a class action lawsuit. When this whole mess is over, just watch. Look all this up. But if you fill out the exception form written by a CONSTITUTIONAL ATTORNEY (hello) you are consenting that the mandate is law and that it is valid and you remove your Constitutional Rights. We all need to unlearn what the Corporation ‘of’ the US has brainwashed us to control, and relearn how to be a sovereign individuals and know our Rights. JUST WATCH. Look up Act of 1871, learn history on how we got to this point.

@1igt makes a good point. There is a religious exemption but what religion would a person practice that is against the vaccine? Vanderbilt University has identified four tiny Christian denominations: Dutch Reformed Church, Church of the First Born, Faith Assembly and Endtime Ministries. Even Christian Scientists have not outright said “Our faith prohibits you from getting the Covid vaccine.” The worlds major religions don’t ban vaccines for their members either.

I’d guess most of the people who refuse to get the vaccine have “a reason” but not a good reason. Of course “I did my research” is always good for a laugh. As if spending 50 hours reading conspiracy theories on social media is “research”. I personally know exactly two people outside of work who have refused to get the vaccine and honestly both of those people are dim witted. Haven’t met a single person against the vaccine that I would consider intelligent.

Anyone who doesn’t want the vaccine please stand with your convictions, quit, and move to an organization that more aligns with your beliefs. I’d love to see some positions open up.

Wow, the level of ignorance of some these replies. I hope you have left or are leaving soon because I would hate to work alongside you. OP had a good question. If Nike offers this option, no need to dig any further. You don’t have to agree with certain religions, but it should be treated the same in regards to diversity and respect.

What religion are you in which vaccines are forbidden? Can you cite the specific scripture?

If they approve an exemption, it will most likely come on the condition of your agreement to other concessions/accommodations, like: You will wear a mask at all times, and you will agree to very regular covid testing.

@gjk

This is a textbook case of magical thinking. Nike is not looking out for you and will not take care of you. I guarantee even if they give you an exemption there's going to be a huge red flag in your HR file and it will be near impossible to move up.

I wrote in about a month ago and have not heard anything. FAQs state it could take 45 days but I agree they may be waiting to learn the level of pushback they will receive

I support the original post and question. It’s important to have a conversation and share information to help ALL of us make the right decisions for our families/health/etc. I will share if I learn anything about how the exemption process is working and I hope others do the same. I support my colleagues and teammates even if they don’t have the same beliefs as me, and that’s what I expect of Nike and those who are part of the Nike team.

@onz - I did the religious one. I did assume it was the same form as the main link from zero was religious/medical. Would be curious if they are approving them on different timelines.

Which one did you apply for? Medical or religious? They are not the same exemption nor are they the same form. Probably will not be processed on the same timeframe.
