I retired from IBM 3 years ago. I had many experiences and worked with great people.
IBM tried to lay me off 3 times. I transferred to other clients and even traveled for two years. i retired on my terms.
Learn new skills in high demand so you can take on new assignments. Security skills are in high demand. Project Management is another area to consider. I am sure there are other skills depending on your current position.
Take the lead and control your destiny.

Perhaps I can provide a different perspective. I retired from ibm in 2017, went to a smaller consulting firm and modernized my skills. In 2020 I joined a faang and am now running a very large consulting Program. Yep Project management isn't cool, but there is a career where others see a dead end. Advice...find your career passion and do the job better than anyone else!
