It’s good we fired the people who came to make processes at Crown we do not need processes and sicne ad do not have process they cannot research and analyses the processes to cut out jobs. We win and we keep our job.

True on the construction, engineering, and other industry-specific jobs. The challenge will be for project managers, administrative, and other more general employees.

Also, with fiber and small cell going away, central support positions will be at risk. Don’t need a bunch of D&D people to program CCIsite and all of the fiber systems. Nor do you need as many payroll, legal, bs, accounting, etc.

If there wasn't a sale pending we would already have a Q4 numbers call.

Guys crown isn’t taking a 10 billion lost. Network is not being sold. These articles are leaked by Zayo and TPG to put pressure on Crown to selll.

It's not over simplification it's fact. There will be overlap and there will be layoffs.

Don't worry, telecom and the government workers being released don't have much overlap in skills.

The only thing that will save Crown in the interim is our custom processes and applications for Fiber and Tower. Once the acquisition is complete, Zayo won't immediately understand the application tools and processes that we use to sell and implement solutions throughout our network.

That being said, this isn't Zayo's first go-around... I guarantee they'll have a timeframe to complete the system and process migration and then after that, look out! On day 1 of the merger, they'll look for redundancies... specifically in middle and upper management.

While it's true that companies often look for efficiencies in acquisitions, it's an oversimplification to assume that layoffs are guaranteed. Zayo's purchase could be driven by strategic growth, expansion into new markets, or acquiring valuable infrastructure that they lack. In many cases, acquisitions lead to investment in talent and resources rather than immediate cuts, especially if the goal is to scale operations rather than simply reduce costs. While some redundancies may be addressed, assuming widespread layoffs as an inevitability overlooks the broader strategic considerations at play.

Anyone who doesn't think Zayo would be counting on synergies (higher rev w reduced headcount by eliminating redundancies) in their purchase decision is fooling themselves. If they didn't think they could do a better more efficient job they wouldn't be buying. There will be layoffs. Guaranteed.

Zayo is anticipating to keep us all and adding additional headcount

Zayo has remote work so that’s a plus.

Zayo has been hiring for a bit now. 65 openings this morning. Are they anticipating to keep us all and add additional headcount or only extend job offers to a restricted number of CCI headcount if we merge?

@h9+1jjt7hp4d: +1 especially how unemployment is gonna really rise with government layoffs and those people entering the job market. Get out now before there are no jobs to be had!

It wasn’t too long ago when Crown was positioned to purchase Zayo. Zayo could easily operate the NewCo as a separate entity, sit on it and sell it for a healthy profit it in 5-10 years.

So many of you don’t realize what this company had. The leadership and the culture were wiped out by the bean counters in Houston. Get back to basics, take care of customers, develop talent internally, cut all of the consultant BS, hire leaders experienced in the functions they manage (we chased the good ones away), be disciplined in spending. Too many “smart” people trying clever strategies. This business isn’t hard.

Zayo buying is literally the worst (for employees) of all the outcomes for we’ve known/heard about. Lots of job redundancies.

I honestly never understood Zayos interest in our fiber, with so much overlap present. Them taking small cells too is even more of a puzzling decision if it happens

Well, if Zayo does purchase us, lots of people will be considered redundant once such a deal settles. They don’t need nearly as many employees since they have their own infrastructure.

They must be buying small cells. Why would they pay $8 billion when the only competitor was going to pay $5.

Crown Castle is getting rid of fiber one way or another. It may not be tomorrow, it may not be next week, but as soon as they find a buyer at a decent price, it’s gone. With Dan out of the way it probably moves rather quickly from here on.
