Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

RTO Failure

Not socially distanced, No cleaning completed, masks not being worn, inaccurate CDC information being shared by HR.

They don’t care. So frustrating!

I think it is relevant to note that I have a family member who works at Chase Bank that was going through an alternating RTO, week in and week out, and after a number of them (all vaccinated) tested positive even Jamie Dimond caved and made RTO optional until further notice.

Last year, during the same period in September, there were 7000+ deaths per week due to covid and nobody was vaccinated. This week, there are over 11000+ deaths and the US pop. is over 54% fully vaccinated. Just a few month ago in July when quarantine restrictions started to be relaxed, there were 1800+ deaths that quickly accelerated when restriction were lifted at various venues and companies push for the RTO. They cannot blame the unvaccinated for ever, at one point they have to accurately report the breakout cases and correctly identify and approach the problem. We have the right to know the true results of this experiment, no matter how unpleasant the results are - is the vaccine working (efficiency percentage), how many fully vaccinated people succumb to covid and do we acquire natural immunity after infection and recovery. Hopefully somebody at CDC/NIH will have a backbone and make the right call.
If BofA had competent Sr. Management, they'd be making the right call and reconsider the RTO. In a couple of months, covid infections and deaths will double at this rate, if nothing changes. BofA definitely needs somebody more capable at the helm, with vision, understanding and compassion.

Weird that a company that puts its major centers in Arizona, Texas, and Florida is concerned with the freedumbs of its employees. I guess there is a balance to be weighed between salary and effective production. We are willing to let quality slide because these inbreds are willing to work cheap and we don’t need a reason to fire them.

I know the non-vaxxers are big fans of segregation. How about putting them all together in their own building until this virus works itself out. Then just bulldoze. More parking for those of us that matter. These are real solutions.

I’m all for the mandate. Not because I think it will work. It’ll just be funny to see all these right wingers either abandon their cult by getting a shot, dying, or be reduced to working in the service industry. Maybe then we can raise the minimum wage to a living one.

People in France are not mandated to get vaccinated until 6 months after their positive covid test (everyone else is). I believe USA mandate could have some prior covid positive people wording w mandate. Americans though generally think we are smarter than we actually are so I completely understand why not to give antivaxers an inch as they will spin it to some crazy tale and will try to take a 100 miles..

Post ID: @pdv the executive order signed for fed workers applies only to the executive branch, legislative (congress) and judicial are not included. Also, 600K postal workers are excluded. You see, there are two sets of laws....you do get to choose the flavor of the KY Jelly though, if that makes you happy.

Post ID: @eld+1cLAK7eO good list and also I would like to add that natural immunity acquired after having the covid infection is not taken into consideration.

“The natural immune protection that develops after a SARS-CoV-2 infection offers considerably more of a shield against the Delta variant of the pandemic coronavirus than two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to a large Israeli study that some scientists wish came with a ‘Don’t try this at home’ label,” Science reported Thursday. “The newly released data show people who once had a SARS-CoV-2 infection were much less likely than vaccinated people to get Delta, develop symptoms from it, or become hospitalized with serious COVID-19.”

BM - "Come to the office so you can talk to your peers face to face"
Managers - "No talking. Social distance, Do all your communication via webex."

Reality - 20% of azz-kissing employees show up to work. No one wears a mask. People get sick from sharing elevators and standing in line for Starbucks. BM thinks this is a success.

Worst case scenario: boss, I think I'm coming down with covid, again, I have to call in and work from home. I swear to Go.d, I tested positive, I took one of those over the counter kits sold in the supermarket...I have to quarantine at home.

Oh, and @1zqc+1cLAK7eO you id10t, it seems you have a comprehension problem, that poster has VALID points.

I am no longer with the bank, since myWork is on it’s way out , it is strictly up to your managers discretion and how it is explained and approved by leadership whether you RTO or not and what your job is. Some of the banks loans underwriting and auditing divisions do not have to return.

First they came for the unvaxxed then they came for me...type of situation.
Some of those weird political (usually left) comments are insane.

It's not about politics fools. It's about choice. That's what America is supposed to be about.

Make no mistake BofA will jump on any side that benefits them and scrws you! They bet red and blue every year while you sit there voting donkey or elephant.

One of the things that really concerns me is our team was re-assigned in a new seating area on our shared workspace floor in Charlotte. Pre pandemic we had ample space to spread out with often an empty desk between you and another person, but now we don't. Our team will have less room to socially distance and no barriers between others in desks across and adjacent. It's just mind boggling.

I find it to be negligent on the Bank's part to not have entertained a hybrid work arrangement by now, but I am holding out hope that they will as more return. We need to limit office capacity to allow people to spread out and ensure distancing.

I'm fully vaccinated but it's not going to keep me from potentially being infected given this would be a high risk environment. Even with a vaccine mandate, BofA needs to take appropriate action to ensure every possible mitigation measure is in place. I have young kids at home who are too young to be vaccinated and already face significant exposure risk at school. It is disappointing that we may be forced to accept a new level of risk being in the office which is completely irrational given that my job is fully functional from home.

Post below mind:

You are absolutely right. Make your own decision. Just be aware your decision may have consequences, such as not being able to work at BofA. This is at-will employment and rights work both ways.

If the company mandates the COVID vaccine, then they better mandate the FLU shot moving forward too because all the hackers and sneezers in the office during flu season nobody gives a ratz azz. This is AMERICA and it we have the freedom to make our OWN decisions regarding our healthcare.

Biden’s decision is definitely correct in order to rapidly reduce the risk of Covid. The problem isn’t on Biden’s decision, the problem is on the bank’s decision that insists us to go back so early. The daily cases are still increasing, and vaccinated people could still get infected by Covid. If the daily new cases decreases to thousands instead of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, I don’t mind going back with safety protocols. But right now it’s not the right time to return to office. Why can’t this company just wait for a couple of more months?

Individual choice still exists with testing protocols in lieu of vaccination.

Very much so. Vaccines should have been mandatory from the start. This whole everyone’s opinion is valid thing is getting old.
