if anything Trump has been looking to downsize Government - too big, too bloated and it is not doing the job it was tasked with. Too many managers and micro-managers just like IBM was about 10 years ago. That is one reason we aren't at the top of science and engineering fields any more. Change is needed, not the addition of more bureaucrats and managers.
China and India need to go their own way, the US makes it's own destiny without their H1B people or cheaply manufactured garbage with little or no quality. Neither country is the US best friend and we need to acknowledge that. But they are been planning strategy for a long time, so they could try and blunt the effects of Trump's tariffs.
And that’s the problem

@pr Why should our tax dollars pay for it? Private industry does much better at building better mouse traps. Gov should only fund the military and handle foreign affairs. Enough communism in this country.
Given how Trump is destroying all government funded science and technology funding in the USA (hey, ever hear of the Internet?) I'd say eventually India and China will be running things. The world won't have much use for outdated US technology, engineers or programmers anymore.
Different world when that stuff happened. Exec bonuses were tied to meeting a diversity quota and they'd do anything to hit it. Now it's the opposite, Indians hiring every relative and friend and on the road to being a 100% Indian company within a year.
Many large corporations have been doing this since 2020 when diversity quotas became the norm. It is indeed reverse racism, and since white men were the victims, had gone largely ignored until now.
For those of you who did not see Arvind blatantly be racist and violate Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act watch the leaked video below. Hiring and firing and promoting based on gender, race, age, skin color etc etc etc. When I joined in the early 80s we just did not see people like that. We did not talk politics or religions etc. In many ways IBM is a WOKE dumpster fire now who only cares about a $300 stock price and cash flow. It is sick. Get out while you can. It gets worse every day.
