I didn't even think twice about my salary when I decided to leave my old job at WFC. I knew I wanted out and that I wanted to find something more interesting and challenging that would allow me to explore different aspects of my field.
I admit, starting over and building a career from scratch can be pretty daunting, but I have to tell you since I made the change, the mental stress has lifted. And the best part is, I feel like I'm thriving in this new environment.

Who says anyone is dried up at 63. Years of experience. Maturity that younger workers do not have. Perfect attendance. Doesn’t call in sick or hung over. On time to work. Knowledgeable about everything. Supportive of everything the company does - good or bad. Will RTO with no problem or complaining. Works 150 percent better and faster than the younger lazy counterparts. I would hire one of these workers over the job jumpers that are immature and whiny. These are the back bone workers we got rid of. Huge mistake to lay off your loyalty Charlie.
If you are looking for a fulltime position at age 63, you will likely be disappointed. Your best bet might be working with a contract/temp agency.

@uef+1mAUE3Au, being 63 and riding the wagon for 33 years, it'll probably be best to retire to a life of leisure. Why put yourself back out there when all jobs are downsizing and also going younger as they can pay less.
How do you start over when you are 63 and have been here for 33 years? Got axed and age discrimination is real. I have applied to countless jobs with no calls. Not sure how to move forward.
I agree if you in an environment that is poisonous you'd care less about making a higher or comparable salary. You just want out.

In analyst and tech careers, it is almost impossible to start over for me - unless we still look in our 30s.
They hire H1 and OPT visa workers who are cheaper and with better looking schools.
