BOD doesn't care either, otherwise they would have picked a CEO who cares.

I honestly think the only reason CS was brought in was to fire 50-60k domestic workers, and to use a combo of other things to replace their work product. The BOD knew it would ki-l morale and everyone would hate what he was doing, but at the end of the day he leaves and the "CEO everyone likes" comes in to repair the morale damage while not having to deal with the massive cost cutting measures or be soiled by it.
I’d love to have a CEO who not only acknowledges that they make 350 times more than their lowest paid employee, but also have a CEO who acknowledges that it’s morally questionable (if not down right wrong) and actively takes steps to bridge the gap. No CEO of a company that receives as much tax subsidies as Wells Fargo should have employees that don’t make enough to take care of their basic human needs. The percentage of large companies that have employees who use public assistance because big corporations refuse to pay wages that eep up with inflation is the biggest failure of our economic system. Capitalism is great, but toxic/exploitative capitalism thrives when only a few win at the cost of the whole of society. I think we are capable of doing better.🤷🏻
