Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I am not proud to work here

I took this offer out of desperation at the time and looking back, I genuinely feel I have sabotaged my career.

The constant stress of not knowing if I will get laid off and the below market pay isnt worth it. I have no respect for most of my co workers ( they are medicore at best)

Im doing what I can to escape the sinking ship

I took a leap of faith in myself and God and left Ford last November at 57, five years earlier than I planned on. My wife was very nervous. It was obvious Ford is a mismanaged sinking ship, that hates it workers and I wanted to take my lump sum 21-year pension. I updated my resume, Linkin account and went to work finding a job. By mid-February I had a new job I like, with leadership that is happy to have me, they respect me, and I could not be happier. Take control of your future, F-Ford and F all the LLs.

Take a self assessment. If it is the job and Ford culture making you unhappy, find a new job ASAP.
Most people are much happier once they leave Ford and land at a healthy company
Some people are unhappy wherever they are.

One thing I have noticed is that many of the older Ford workers who were cut and could just retire will find a new gig work a few years, just to feel valued and appreciated and then they retire. The common sentiment being they had never felt valued at Ford and spent a career trying to get an LL6 and they just needed the career validation before they could retire.

The Ford culture is messed up.

@OP alright, enough with the poor little old me routine. If you dont like it (and many people are unhappy, youre not the only one) take some initiative and find a company that you will be happy at. Mommy isnt going to wipe your tears and make you any hot cocoa. I was unhappy, I left, and now I am happy. But dont delude yourself with the thought that you arent going to run into another mess at your next place.

Member of friends and family because I don't play victim and blame my co workers for not growing my career? Lmao.

Where I'm from we don't stake our careers and progress on other people.

If I don't grow in my career it's not my co workers fault it's mine.
Maybe accountability and taking responsibility for your own life is such a foreign concept to you.

That anyone telling you to is considered FnF at Ford. Lol
I've learned so much at my time there.
things that aren't even in my job description because.
I don't stake my career on my co workers like you lmao.

Post like these always is weird to me.
Why blame your co-workers lmao.

If you're so great you should be at a more prestigious company shouldn't you?
but you're at Ford so you're mediocre too lol.

This OP is probably the same guy who keeps ranting about not growing because of his co workers lmao.

with a mentality like that?
mediocrity is all you'll ever be.

@ga1

So true. Those that move up the ladder ,minus most TSs,

Will Step on anyone to get ahead. I worked with a crew that pushed a redesigned system. That cost millions to implement when it was not needed. The director at the time thought it was cool and would get a lot of press. Stupid waste of money and Toyota laughed their as--s off

That's because most co-workers are back stabbing snakes. Now that I retired young and if I met them at a bar, I would bully them for sure... lol... Office pu----s. Save well, retire, young, be free and rediscover your youth. Keep working out, so when you run into those that caused your situation, you can knock their di-k in the dirt!
