Update on Fully Remote

Any updates from HR folks or managers on what the plan is for fully remote employees not near a HUB or any other US Bank office? Will these employees be safe long term, or will they be phased out?

The managers are seriously taking RTO conversation classes. I received an email with the dates of the classes. Compliments of Elfio, he appreciates each every one of us.

Managers will be taking a course on “RTO conversations with employees” beginning this week. This is being rolled out terribly. - HR person

Yep. There are two teams being stood up in India right now that will handle "creative" and of course, there will have to be onshore oversight because we all know how well this is going to go. Will be interesting to see how they handle sprint reviews and BL approvals with the time difference. Maybe they will force "onshore" people to do that work for them.

@qqa+1rRuaEFj creative and content?! Are you saying marketing roles are being outsourced?

I am fully remote and have been moved into a very undesirable role despite glowing performance reviews, with very little opportunity to get out of it because I'm not located in a hub. The other poster is right -- they are outsourcing lots to India, including creative and content. Good luck with that.

The RTO memo they put out when they announced the hubs seems to imply that most opportunities for advancement will come from working in a hub. They may not layoff remote workers not near a hub for now but that probably won't be the case in the future. I think the quiet firing will happen sooner rather than later.

Eventually nobody will be safe. Seems with corporations now the plan is to outsource all the labor to India.
