@1asf+1njWu2sH Is that the reason why our entire department or team received a document for on-boarding new developers??????
Farley says "current employees do not have the skill set needed, he doesn't have the time to train them, so he needs to higher younger people to do the jobs (Wallstreet Interview). Do you see the lawsuit in that statement?
Further - jobs are not only going to younger people, but to LCCs (Low-Cost Countries). Let me just say I have spent more time in the last two weeks finding errors, calling them out to fix (but they say they are too busy) and training LCCs how to operate a SharePoint site. Figure that one out!!
Ocean Gate wanted younger engineers instead of older experienced engineers with wisdom. How did that work out for them?
Often they have the right people doing the wrong jobs.
Remember, 'we have the wrong people'. So they will not fill open positions with current employees.
That's one of the disadvantages of compensating the C-suite primarily via company shares. If it was only market investors wanting to see immediate profits over long term corporate health they could wish all day, but C-suite wouldn't be incentivized to obey those wishes.
You can blame WallStreet for this, out with the high-paying jobs and recruiting junior employees for less pay. WallStreet wants to keep its stockholders happy. Ford is only doing what is expected, or its stocks will plummet.
Amazing that instead of allowing current employees to apply for the open spots Ford would rather bring new people in. I suspect the new people are much younger and paid much less.
It’s not about skills. It’s about cost.
Ok, then let the current employees keep their jobs for lower pay rather than getting canned. Nope. “Innovative” Ford can’t think outside the box.
Funny how the article also states that Ford continues to hire.
