Thread regarding Ford layoffs

So no voluntaries, but involuntaries in June, July or August? Anything looking more likely among these 3 months yet?

@rrd+1h69msJL they absolutely offer counters. It all just depends on the situation.
Factor 1: does your manager think you are replaceable and do they want to expend their political capital to keep you? It needs sign off from a LL2 or 3.

Factor 2: the offer needs to be comparable. If you are a programmer and you get an offer to be a salesperson in a healthcare industry for $50k more a year and you have to move to a higher CoL area, HR won't be able to compute that. If your offer is same role for a competitor for more money and you aren't moving, they can absolutely compute that as "change in the market" and can counter.

Keep your eyes open for openings for your role at your big 3 neighbors. This is how you play that game.

The voluntaries are happening every day. Every day another handful of the talent puts in their notice. Ford HR's policy of not giving matching counteroffers is burning the company. At this rate there will be no one left to involuntary! I mean, they want to replace the pre 2004 employees with non-pension eligible employees, but the non-pension-eligible have their pick of the litter in an employee's job market! I expect they will use the rumors to their advantage and get rid of a few pensioners........but at this rate they will not be able to afford to cut a significant number.

@OP. I'd bet June because it is the last month of the second quarter. However, with all the reorgs happening due to the Ford Blue/E/Pro, we might have to go to 3rd quarter. In which case, I'd bet end of August, when the workforce is back after the summer vacations.

At the same time, if Ford management were logical and smart, we would not be in this situation. So all bets are off.
