Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Layoffs to come

Honestly if you are mid 40’s and older you should be very concerned about the future Workers in that age range are the synergy sweet spot for cost savings. They will not miss numbers 2 quarters in a row

As soon as FB took over all operating functions it was clear who the real boss is.

@1yog+13BdQ7R3, seriously, the only people i see these days are OFD people in meetings and a sprinkling of original Fiserv peoples. Most of the senior leadership C level are from First Data. I think it is safe to say if you are part of the OFD, the odds are in your favor to keep your job. With that said, if you are part of the Original Fiserv groups, it might be good to update that resume of your's and look for better opportunities; because, the new management groups appear to not care for your opinion and don't seem to trust that you will get your job done ( a lot of micro management).

Yes Frank you’re still safe. You have your jet and back up jet to make it to a Fiserv office

@rwq+13BdQ7R3 Fiserv is not even on the top 50 for the most admired companies. I think they bought the award to be tied with several other companies.

Of course not, it’s arbitrary and selective. Electric payments leaders will still live on the beach and on boats.

The whole 'work from work' will never, EVER, be fully enforced across all BU's. You heard it hear first.

Ageism is real and a horrible fact of life. Older workers, 40 and up, ARE targeted for firings - and one way to do it too is eliminate remote workers. IBM tried that and has a lawsuit ongoing. Just move the workers out into corporate centers. YOUNG workers, apartments, can do that easily. OLDER workers, homes with a mortgage and commitments, cannot do that so easily. Result - you guess?

@ddb+13BdQ7R3 - disagree, just reality

@pfx+13BdQ7R3 - What?!??!??!? And here I thought those most admired company awards were real. No doubt that FD will run this company into the ground and lose tons of customers.

Normally I would agree but these are not 'normal' lay offs. First to go will be WFH people who are unable or unwilling to move into an office. Second will be low performers as rated by your 2019 end of year review. Third to go will be 'non-strategic' office locations as defined by the number of employees at the location and/or duplicative office cities between Fiserv and OFD. If any one is left, well then its up for grabs, it could be age based or it could be drawn out of a hat or it could be who looked at their senior leader wrong that day.

His statement isn't too far off. People that are in their late 30's to mid 40's understand their value, and ask a fair wage for what they do. I wouldn't be too shocked that there is age discrimination to make Q2 numbers; however, I think attrition from all the dumb stuff that senior management is doing will help meet the Fiserv's 300 million in synergies promised to shareholders. I would guess that Fiserv will start to have high attrition like it did in 2013, and would expect the company to get the worse. I wonder if it will make the top 10 worst companies like it did back in 2013.

This assumption is the very poor rating of the CEO of First Data, and based on comments from First data employees. It will be interesting to see how far the ship sinks before he get a kick in the pants by the board of directors.
