I don't feel you should generalise an entire office I work there and there are some talented people high performers
I will say certain channel players at best have questionable work ethic and recite PowerPoints they do drag us down unfortunately
More emphasis seems to be put on playing the part rather than delivering
Having been on both sides of the coin
The Meraki piece is only possible because on intimacy with leadership and your team
- Your leader is there everyday
- Your team is there everyday
You can't hide, you sink or swim, but the team is there to make sure you do the latter
The polar opposite happens on the blue side
A 121 happens once a month if you are lucky
Pressure for numbers comes in at the expense of actually delivering excellence
Cisco needs to hire engineers like the way Meraki hires new employees!! It is a well run business unit in Cisco.
I’m sure there are many well run groups in Cisco, not each and every group is bad.
Cisco needs to stop depending on outsourcing companies and do local hiring.
Uh, they got rid of MM.
The south Africa office in entirety is fat and I say this as someone there
AMs carry lazy PAMs in flashy cars
Who cares about customers or the business when you are CSAP 23 years old with a land rover.....
Rotten office to the core
Always on lunches with partners but no ROI
Headless chicken leaders
Always cutting the muscle, never cutting the fat
The logical conclusion after many tens of thousands have been laid off over 23 years is Cisco is nothing but fat.
Cisco died after its first ever single quarter of reduced revenue. RIP. /s
The fact of the matter is Cisco has rid itself of many people who weren't bringing value, and many of them severely overestimate their contribution. Revenues are higher than any quarter in history aside of last quarter. It's had downturns deeper and lasting longer than one quarter.
It's hard to see how Cisco can continue to lose market share to its competitors and not have either the staff or leadership to take on the far more complex problems customers will pay to solve that no one has solved well while still growing, but there is still money to be milked out of the current business for some time to come.
That’s why Cisco is now SewersCo.

It’s easier to let go of workers with no say.
