So much attrition there’s barely anyone left to do the work. Anything operational has already been outsourced. F&L Digital and UIS have taken a bunch of the data and growth projects/people, with more to come. What’s left? Besides “agile”, that is.

EMIT US = Done–zo. No self–respecting, young IT person will start or continue their career here anymore. It’ll all be IT consulting companies and contracts like Accenture, EY, Collabera, HCL, Infosys. Then the EMIT managers will just be coordinators/vendor managers because their tech knowledge is still stuck in the 90s.
Enjoy the on prem solutions, endless Excel, Sharepoint and Infopath forms folks!
In all honesty, what's the fate of EMIT. Anyone sending what Keillor may be upto?
XOM will have to pay people to take EMIT off their hands. EMIT is full of overpaid fat cats, busy doing business amongst themselves..... "Look at all these tickets we have to deal with!!"
Haha. Award for must humorous post. SELL OFF EMIT? Who are the potential buyers? What is their product? They have value to EXxon but how exactly would you sell them? They aren’t a refinery.
@ryr+1atI3ksS, article is from 2009

selling something assumes there is something of value to be sold
Between HCL and Infosys contracts most of XOM work will be sourced out.
The company doesn’t want EMIT and EMIT employees don’t want the company. Beautiful relationship.
Isn’t EMIT already run by a third party vendor HCL? It’s a India run company.
I think they would let everyone go vs sell it.
Sold off = outsourced
Coming soon...
Let’s see how Controls and Audit feel when they have nothing to review...
Who in their right mind would want to buy EMIT? I say this as someone that works in EMIT.
