Pretenders

BNY Mellon is no exception in this regard, because in most of the places where I have worked so far, pretenders are more appreciated than those who really do all the work. However, there will soon be many more pretenders here than those who put in the actual effort. How is it possible that someone who only 'pretends' to be useful is more valued than someone who really works hard?

@tde, then both the manager and his employee should be fired. So I guess it's okay not to do your assigned work and let some other hard working co-worker do your work as well? That's what's wrong with this generous.

Ice always liked the Pretenders. Certainly better than Pershing and Lotus Notes in the 80’s.

if someone 'pretends' to work and their manager is OK with the 'outcome / result' of the 'work', why would you care.
