Many companies have high stock prices but are horrible places to work. Offshoring and hammering down the domestic worker are well-regarded on Wall Street.

As long stock prices are healthy, its a good thing cause the reflection would be that the company is healthy and everyones' job is secured. Right? Wrong. Wall street blue chip companies have twisted fundamentals that have changed the way we look at the 'health' of a company. The capitalist society has this way of milking the cow dry and even that more from a dead carcass.
Wall street doesn't view stocks as long term 'holds' but rather as short term gains. Therefore, as long as companies traded on Wall 'Capitalist-Sick' Street view that as the needs of their investors, they will have a very short vision to grow a company. Stick with working with companies that aren't hooked up with these shennigans like joining a smaller company. Less pay but better life. Its a trade off.

Buys and upgrades happen often closer to tops than bottoms. I think JPM also added Hon to their "stocks to own" list. There are a lot of huge funds that have to stay long stocks, no matter what the valuation. So they always have to be in something. These kind of reports are some of the justification the "always long" funds use to make their buys. But large companies that have large trading desks - JPM, GS, Berkshire, they will pump and dump.

@trk is correct: Honeywell stock was "upgraded by Deutsche Bank to buy from hold who believes the industrial giant's stock was one of the most attractive in its peer group. Analyst Nicole DeBlase raised her price target to $244 from $222 a share".
Don't read too much into it as overall the stock market was up last week.

Easy. Layoffs and closures that will reduce cost and ease cash flow in the long run which attracts investors that honeyhell has their pockets lined for years to come.
That $230 stock is based on the last traded price therefore, if there are less of such stocks in the circle, the demand for it goes up.
