Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Anyone successfully commuting?

Has anyone found success with a weekly commute from Bend area? I don’t want to leave but I have loved living in Bend these last few years and am trying to decide if I rent a small apartment back in Portland for the 4/1 and keep my house in Bend. Would love to hear if anyone else has done it successfully

Uh. I’m sorry but it is your choice to live in central oregon so why in the world would nike pay your mileage, meals and out your a-s up in a hotel.

WTF is going on around here???

I commute from Sunriver for the week. Like another said, it's a little sketchy in the winter, but Nike provides stipend and reimburses mileage so it's not economically awful. If they are paying for hotel, mileage, and meals then I'd definitely do it.

1daf+1pxKx1Cw exactly! - OP should live 15 minutes away from job, 2030 deadline is fast approaching, end of story.

The amount of CO2 and GHG emissions you are going to burn to support your selfish decision to live in one place while working in another is bananas. Please consider another job closer to where you live or moving closer to where you work.

I honestly can't tell if this is a serious post or not. If it is, yes, get help.

All the rumors about Bend & Antifa have been debunked by the FBI (a very trustworthy organization), I would continue to live there for the time being because no one suspects anything, obviously. If the desire for social "justice" and gratuitous violence becomes unbearably stronger, I would definitely move to Portland. In any case, please don't leave the state, let's make sure that whatever happens in Oregon stays in Oregon.

Yes. I live in Redmond now and commute each week. Winter isn’t great but generally doable. Also been thinking about getting a place or renting a room in Beaverton when 4:1 starts.
