Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Phase 3 is before Xmas or so they say

So I’m hearing that Phase 3 layoffs (not sure at what level though) will be wrapped up before Xmas. Perhaps so as to avoid bonus payments…. Anyone else heard this ?

Phase 3 is going to happen 2nd or 3rd week in January. Phase 4(final) is happening in February.

You guys are under the assumption that bonus’s will even be given at all. The message will be delivered of “Just be glad you get to keep your job”. When it comes to the layoff decisions of who goes and who stays….enter the Benny Hill chase music here.

Correction to last post - If you’re laid off Jan 17 and bonuses are paid on Jan 31, you most likely WON’T receive it.

You typically need to be actively employed on the day of bonus pay out in order to receive it. If you’re laid off Jan 17 and bonuses are paid on Jan 31, you most likely receive it.

I have been told even if you leave the company you will still get your 401k match.

they dont need to lay you off in December to avoid paying you a bonus in January. They are just as happy to donut you and encourage you quit, or lay you off in Feb or March

OP: More disinformation. Might want to fact-check before coming on here.

Based on a recent development in my division, I am agreeing with @ubt and @dji: It will most likely be the week of Jan 15th (3rd week of January).

Well at least it sounds like we will get our bonuses before getting laid off. I wonder if they will still deposit the 401(k) match into the accounts in March since we "made it" through the full 2023 year?

I would think it would be right before comp actions are shared shortly after 1/12 which is the date of the January board meeting so that would translate to the second week of January for layoffs....guess they can push another week so 2nd or 3rd week of January makes sense.

They said it’s end of January so assume 3rd week

No layoffs in December. Don’t worry and don’t scare others. Take one day at a time. Understand that there is not much difference between Jan and Dec. Next round is in Jan. Don’t know 2nd week or third.
