I didn't think it was possible, but each new year at Cisco is worse than the previous one. From more layoffs to hits to our benefits to managers behaving worse and worse as they figure out they can get away with it... Cisco went from being one of the best places to work to one of the worst in less than a decade.

Big non-union businesses like Cisco are exactly like that.
Name a big "software" business that was unionized from the start. While you're at it, name such a business which pays over $100,000 to a kid on their first day of work straight out of college.

For a lot of development Cisco was a worst in class not only one but two decades ago. You're just more sensitive because once the skin is rubbed off the nerves are more exposed.
From the Drew Carey Show: “Oh, you hate your job? Why didn’t you say so? There’s a support group for that. It’s called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.”
All totalitarian regimes just keep repeating how fantastic everything is and foster a cult of leader worship as the great leaders and saviours who will guide us through a turbulent world whilst crushing all other voices. Big non-union businesses like Cisco are exactly like that.
Best place of work is done to gaslight everyone into doubting ourselves into thinking we are the problem as individuals. Very clever what CR and his cronies try to do. It’s all complete BS of course.
Every time I hear we are the best place to work, it makes me sick. Look what we did to so many people while the Executives travel the world and put millions into their pockets.
What I saw at CiscoLiveMelbourne was a dichotomy. Despite how messed up we are in Executive leadership, some folks have still done some great work! Yet hearing how we are investing makes me sick when we have done so many layoffs. I must have heard the words "investing" and "innovation" at CiscoLiveMelbourne 100 times.
Example: Lorrissa with Webex posted from CiscoLiveMelbourne ...
I'm excited about the ongoing investments Cisco is making to make AI pervasive across every aspect of the Webex Platform.
No, we laid off some great folks in the Webex team and budgets have been very tight. That's not investing, that's not even embellishing, that's fabricating!!!!
Stop stabbing our people in the back!!! We let some great people go, and now many of the rest of us are worried which impacts our work.
@upq+1q2nxlW6 CR will never be fired. He’ll graciously exit as splunk ceo takes over and spin it as a huge success so he’s moving on down the road.
Many more miserable years ahead until board fires chuck
There is a lot more out there beyond Cisco. Get a new job for the new year. If you're in CA, move to a sane state AND get a new job. Life is short. Spend your time wisely. Don't try to teach a pig to sing; it's a waste of time and just irritates the pig.
