Thread regarding United Healthcare layoffs

How far in advance does management know?

Team leads and managers know about lay offs before we know.

Lately I feel something is in the works management super nice not saying anything. We are loosing people left and right some promotion some leaving and nobody is replacing them. They keep encouraging us to apply for any and everything and if you get a rejection email
let them know. Worked here 10 years never felt this in easy.

It’s truly unfair to live with this constant daily fear. It’s hard to see how it can be beneficial for anyone’s mental health; it really feels like a daily struggle for survival at our jobs.

But those who have schedules made for them. Isn't it wild they are only doing it two weeks at a time been that way since March ish. Never request future pto anymore all is mostly in the red.

I think last time when it went all over social media and tt they did not like that. I do feel they know. They just won't say anything. I wish they would just come out and say it the constant fear is horrible. Like do I have a job or not have a job. Living in fear is causing the mental stress.

It depends on who's getting RIF'd. Even as a Director -- and my manager a Senior Director -- we weren't told until THAT day.

Anymore since this all started, I feel we are not being told everything. I know 5 /1/25 but those that choose to stay due to unemployment, how long are we safe for? Like give us a realistic time line. I know they know.

It will amount to be about 3-4 business days of warning before this coming Tuesday that I've known the sluggiest slug on my team is being let go.

As a PEx leader we were not informed ahead time. We found out on 4/21 when Assoc Directors & Directors were laid off. We were told on Tuesday 4/22 that lay offs would be significant. To see 75% of PEx gone is shocking and the loss of high quality Advocates is so, so concerning. People first - really!!

Our manager had no clue but not surprising as they did the same thing about phone training last year in PEX. None of the managers knew. The way things are being done is absolutely disgusting with no regard to employees or our management team

I know my leader knew and withheld for at least a week. I know this for a fact. So some know at least a week in advance and then wait to tell you. Disgusting.

I’m a team lead in my department and I do not hear about them until after the fact. I would honestly guess this is how it is for most team leads as they really aren’t involved in managing people and only manage work assignments usually

It depends to be honest. Some higher level management may be in the know. As mid-management every thing I've heard of or learned about has been after the fact.

It's disheartening and frustrating beyond belief. I can't answer the questions I'm receiving any better than the folks who are asking them. All of this has been a nightmare.
