That meeting was a waste of time.
Anyone hear anything new???
Supply Chain Manager let go today
One person on my team (GTS)
VBG 2 on team of 10. Won’t be more specific than that but both were notified ~9 AM
I am aware of 2 within our group in AI&D under our director. I haven't heard anything else yet but I am pretty sure this was planned a couple months ago.
It's 9:49am (ET) as of this post. Has anyone heard anything 'Official' as of yet? I'm reading these posts and VZ is so large at this point can someone also clarify which office locations this is impacting once it actually does happen. Best wishes to those impacted....
Directors who do not meet the span and layer requirements are being offered a package and in some cases an option to stay as Sr Mgr. This is across the board.
My Director said the RIF is 1% of employees across the board (approx 1400 employees total). 2 employees impacted on my director’s team in VGS.
Alright the way I see it, Either lay off or additional duties with no pay change. Heads lay off, tails double work. Post your results.
Is there a difference in the times of meeting hearing that the 30 min is for the layoffs and the 1.5 hour meetings are for info only
Pact has the meeting
@1ams+1mLB84XL VCG all hands is 1 hr. Then there are other VP team calls (within OP&OO) that are an hour - these were already on the calendar weeks ago so who knows.
@1ams+1mLB84XL from what I've been able to determine so far is that all frontline employees in CS (including speciality such as coord, tech, etc) have a 1.5 hr meeting. Leadership in Care (sup & above), Retail (ASM & above) , & L&D (Sr Trainer & above) have a 30 meeting that is scheduled during the time of the frontline meeting. If it is layoffs it's odd to me that leadership for CS, Retail & L&D would all be on the same call as typically layoffs aren't communicated cross channel. Not sure if OPOO, Inside Sales or other depts have either of the meetings but have been able to personally comfirm the details I mentioned.
How long is everyone’s meeting ? I heard that there is a 30 min and then a longer one
Severance package has not changed in years. It's all on the HR site.
What is the severance package expected to be this time around?
@sgz+1mLB84XL OPOO is definitely getting reorged. Big question is how many will have a chair when the music stops.
Rhymin Ricky here to say tomorrow is the big day. From what I hear, the losses will be dear. Too bad CTO Joe won't go. He not nice to Ricky.
Is good post. I like ChatGPT. It is friend.
Could be opoo getting disbanded and the impacts from it. It could also be a VSP with VZ knowing we need to cut head counts but maybe don't want bad press. Or it's the big one and people are being laid off by the thousands. It's going to be 1 or 2 of the 3 options is my most logical thought.
Nervous and excited at the same time. Sending prayers up
Summarized, 1PM PDT on 5/23:
This forum thread serves as a platform for individuals to share any potential impacts expected to occur during the week. Some users express frustration with management, claiming they contribute little to the company's profitability. Specific mentions include the Tier 2 Coord messaging team having a business meeting without details, front-line tech 2 employees receiving a meeting titled "Business Update" on their schedules, and indications of reorganization and layoffs in various departments such as OPOO, retail ops, L&D, customer care, and tech support. Users encourage adding high-level organization acronyms for clarity. There is a mention of senior managers and supervisors being laid off in the wireless department. One user finds motivation in the intense discussions and plans to explore new opportunities outside of their current career. Others discuss the need for positive changes in the face of continuous layoffs, declining market share, external consulting firms' influence, stagnant stock prices, and decreasing shareholder value. The thread emphasizes staying strong and working towards meaningful transformations.
The more the better!! Management they do nothing to make money for the company.
Same for the Tier 2 Coord messaging team. We have a business meeting tomorrow but no details as to what it’s about.
Front line tech 2 and some of us are getting a meeting titled "Business Update" being added to our schedules tomorrow.
Customer care, PACT and tech being affected. OPOO is being reorganized and people cut there. Also hearing retail ops and L&D being affected.
For the benefit of collective awareness, if you know for certain of areas and numbers, please add the high level org acronym like VCG, OP/OO, etc...
I heard customer service and tech support with both be impacted.
@vul+1mLB84XL---what area of the business?
@vul+1mLB84XL what departments in wireless?
Multiple Senior Managers and Supervisors being laid off today and tomorrow in wireless
I was worried about being laid off, but then all the super angry people in these threads made me realize how well off I am. I'm using that as motivation to do a better job and explore new horizons outside of my career/work. It's been somewhat liberating. I'm hoping for the best for everyone. Good luck! This stuff really is fascinating to worry about. Maybe one day soon we'll have a transformation in our economy and businesses which isn't quite so scary for folks. Hopefully.
Indeed, appreciate the initiating of this thread. Stay strong all is a little late. And it is not better late than never!!! Lets make good things happen - how, and embarrassingly dont have an answer -- given knowing this is not easy. But need to be the catalyst to launch worthy changes for the better of the workers who are suffering through this ordeal. The continuous RIFs, loss of market share, highly paid consulting firms imposing changes, stock price languishing, and the erosion of shareholder value.
