Offshore development centers can bring great benefits, but they also come with their own set of challenges, such as time zone differences, cultural gaps, and communication issues. A key to overcoming these challenges is effective management and clear communication strategies.

If you're dealing with concerns about managing offshore teams, I’d recommend checking out this article: https://www.cleveroad.com/blog/how-to-manage-offshore-development-team/ It offers valuable insights on how to streamline processes and improve collaboration with offshore teams, ensuring better results and fewer misunderstandings.

Why is anyone surprised by this? This is the US Bank and Andy MO. McK tells them to offshore to get to the golden ring that Andy holds precious, his Expense ratio. He is Gollum about his precious ring. He thinks everything is solved by offshoring. TOS missed their numbers by a few hundred million by all the BS projects they sold the company on and failed to deliver and now Andy wants everyone to dig deeper into their pockets to find that precious ring .

I am glad I wasn't the only one rolling my eyes listening to Gareth and all the other managers on that call! Do they really think they are improving morale and that we are drinking the kool-aid? We all know it's all about the money and managers enjoying their vacations to India. Jack-as--s

They've been shifting all sorts of roles oversees the last couple of years, UX, Development, Research, etc. A TOS manager I work with is off to India this week to help onboard a couple new business banking teams and I don't see the trend slowing down unfortunately.

Underwriting is being automated, not sure where you heard what you did. Most big banks and insurers are automating underwriting hence the focus on accuracy and timeliness from their staff.

@1ycl+1tqlKgly And FTE's is how management of this organization refers to human beings. It means Full Time Equivalent.

This is a real thing. I don't know the acronyms op used but the rumor I heard is some underwriting will be sent there. More the initial pre-,flight type underwriting that would be sent to the stateside PM before complete. This is logical considering spreading is moving there.
