Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

From Transition to Integration

I love the naming conventions we have for layoffs. How about you? With the Integration coming, I’d hate to be in engineering and services. on the bright side, with fewer people driving to work, and consuming office space, the reduction in carbon will increase our ESG score, which will make the crazy c0mmies happy.

Anyone calling for mass layoffs of any group is either an executive trying to push the dividend up or something kind of sadist red neck who loves harming others to benefit a company that doesn't care about anything but the bottom line.

CTC needs to be slashed. Too much bloated overhead delivering too little value to BUs.

Our management is absolutely obsessed with layoffs. There is no way a company should have as many layoffs as we do. There is just something majorly wrong with the people in charge here.

A little birdy from the Integration Team tells me that some of the scenarios they have been asked to include are fairly grizzly...

@whc, Yup, CTC is doomed. It has been shrinking since its peak in the MK days around 2013-2015. Ironically, the downsizing of CTC was started by current boss EB, when she was in charge of the 2015-2016 company-wide purge. The only productive people now in CTC are the ones working on Permian projects, and those people will be folded into that BU. The remainder are either old-school exploration and development types (who are twiddling their thumbs looking for work), or young kids trying to rebrand their careers as AI or ML 'experts'.

If they offer another payoff like they did for the transformation the door won’t hit me in the #%* on the way out.

Us boomers off campus likes to integrate deep in the ranks.

It's screams freedom and beauty.

No way ill be sticking around if another version of Transformation comes. Absolutely no stability at this company with all the constant layoffs and changes. No one wants this.

They keep saying The Integration won’t mean CTC is gone but most are skeptical. Everyone is scrambling to cozy up to a BU before the music stops.
