Ford just reported sales and it's down big time, even with Ford employees discount for all. People are finally realizing that Ford vehicles are junk. Other automotive companies sales are up. GM and Stellantis did not report.

My mortgage is less $'s than a Ford lease payment!
Automotive is not about satisfying customers. It is ONLY about making $. If someone wants to pay for a tu-d because it is gift-wrapped, mission accomplished!
@wr Stoopid is as stupid Duzz!
@wg Recalls.
Ford management enthusiastically removed most of their employees experienced employees who had been through the fires of previous FUs and replaced them with outlanders on visas whose education and skills may actually have been fictitious.
@an Q1 2025, the overall passenger car/light truck sales were 3.93M units for NA. Q1 2026, that number only dropped slightly to 3.90M units. Ford has lost significant share when compared to the industry. My speculation is the loss is based on Ford being in the press more than any OEM for recalls, Ford also ki-led their entry vehicle, Escape, as well as Edge. The combined peak volume of Escape and Edge was 300k units. Dropping Escape perplexes me since this was the "entry" vehicle to bring first time buyers into the Ford umbrella, then walk them through the portfolio over the years. They say that Bronco Sport will address this market, but not everyone wants an SUV.
Once a vehicle is launched successfully, the next model year, design engineers are tasked with taking 20% or more out of vehicle materials (quality) to cut costs. Ford has been doing this for decades. Similar to the old bait and switch scam. Ford' internal policies are at the root of these quality recalls which hurt the company brand overall. They are willing to take hits because the bean counters calculate that even with the resulting recalls, the cost cuts (reduction in quality) are generating a significant profits to the company.
I am a retired PD engineer who was required to go through these cost cutting exercises after the launch of every new model.
no.
Wait, I thought all of these problems were going to go away.
The RTO mandate was supposed to bring increased cross-functional collaboration, spontaneous communication, and an overall strengthening of company culture.
We are paying today the "gains" of last year fear. A year ago, people were afraid of higher prices with the tariffs, so many decided to buy then. No need for them to buy again this year. Since the "growing" is counted as a comparison with the previous year, the sales are down even more than usual. Ford sold 190K vehicles in May of 2026, more than in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020. It is just that in May of 2025, with the scare tactics I mentioned already, Ford sold 220K vehicles.
This is why we say the auto industry is a cyclical one. When the economy is thriving, people buy a lot of new cars. When the economy is down, the sales of new cars are down as well. After a great year of sales always comes a worse year of sales. After a few bad years of sales, comes a few years of good sales.
Now that I said that, I know FMC is still facing a lot of issues like recalls, low quality and a big debt, while at the same time doing a workforce replacement that is not bringing better employees, just cheaper ones. So all the quality issues are going to persist for the foreseable future. I would not recommend anyone to buy a Ford vehicle. Luckily for the company, there is always a fool that arrives to the Ford dealerships...
People have LONG known that Ford vehicles are junk.
I just wish Henry ford was around to curb stomp in powder for his 40-hours per week idea.
I wonder what the metrics are if Ford employee purchases are removed.
