Trigger a H1B investigation

Anyone know how to trigger a H1B investigation? There's no way that all those employed at Cisco are working jobs Americans can't do. Would enjoy seeing Cisco hiring practices looked into. Might be wrong and all the H1Bs are working legit jobs but I highly doubt it.

The overall cost of hiring an immigrant on h1b is approximate 12000-15000 USD over the base salary. If enough Americans were available at the base salary, the company wouldn’t look outside to begin with.

Sure they would. That cost over the base salary is about a month's salary. If you can make the H1B work 60+ hrs instead of the 40 that an American would work, then in 8 months they've recouped that additional cost. And they have that H1B worker for years trapped by the visa process. The H1B worker can't just quit for a higher paying job because they feel like it. The bean counter can do return on investment calculations.

What kind of Americans? White? Because most posts were whining about DEI. So I assume you mean you want jobs to go to only white Americans? I'm screen shotting this and sending it to WaPo

It's "an H1B investigation". Learn English first.

I’ve worked for TAC, Escalations and SE organizations, taken more than 75 technical screens in the SE org for multiple roles across teams, and can comfortably say, that a very very very small percentage of American citizens were able to pass a basic screen. These are including people who had CCIEs and didn’t pass. The problem here is not the citizenship or visa, the jobs still went to Americans, but the percentage of folks that actually were good enough to take the job, is extremely low. There is a reason why H1B visa holders are in plenty, and the reason is not the visa or H1B nepotism, but the quality of the candidate pool. I am an H1B holder and I got the job after the req I filled was open for more than 8 months with literally 5 people out of 140 applications who made it to the last rounds over months of interviewing.

"working jobs Americans can't do" - Americans indeed can't do those jobs when some H1B is already doing it. Pretty simple.

Now most H1b from India don’t even hold an US degree. IIT is fine, but most just show certificates and no name school even within India.

At least they are not crossing the border and there's a limit on the h1b. Ask our border czar why there are millions crossing the border with no impunity

For my fellow American friends, let me translate what the post @xee+1u3f9lh6 is trying to say. The fear of losing a job means they’ll have to move their entri life back, including family. Kids school, their education, getting a new job for self and for their spouse. Seeking everything they own and start from scratch in their home country.

In my personal experience, I’ve faced similar issues. I came here when I was in high school, I did my BS and MS in USA. When I joined my first company, it was mostly Americans, and it was the best professional experience I got. They didn’t care if I was on H1B, they started my GC process as well. But a couple times and gone through different manager I have seen difference in behaviors of different type of managers. Not to stereotype, but the worst manager I had were Indian managers who worked in India and came to US with some service based company, and they brought the same kiss my a$$ mentality. According to be this the list of managers, and how they behave with H1B employees.

  1. Americans - you can’t ask for a better manager than an US born manager.
  2. US born Indian.
  3. Foreign born, but they studied in USA.
  4. Indian born, studied in USA.
  5. Chinese born, studied in USA.
  6. Foreign born.
  7. Indian born, came to USA with some service company.
  8. Chinese born.

For those who say this is a racist post, why is it not racist when Americans get hurt and discriminated against?

It would be okay if US citizens were employed, but there are thousands looking for a job that they invested in education and experience to be qualified for. Applying to these jobs is getting almost like buying a lottery ticket.
When you let the citizens of your country suffer while opening the borders or offshoring jobs, then you betray your country.
I never liked Trump but reviewing Kamala’s horrid economic plans is going to cost even more jobs at the same time more crowd this country to compete or more go overseas.
At this point it’s more mean to vote Democrat than to vote for someone who makes mean comments. The Democrats are destroying our economy and our ability to make enough to even survive - forget pursuing the American dream.

H1B spotted:

What a BS post. Definitely a racist loser who is about get a boot.
US immigration services don’t care what kind of job US emp can do or International employee can do, all they care is the application process, anpplication and endorsement from hiring firm. LOL 😆
Also, if H1B is ki-led, the jobs will move to countries like Poland, India, Mexico, Ireland etc. TECH firms don’t give a rats an about you and what you think, all they want hard working people in less cost and zero tantrums. Countries like India already have large amazon, ms, Google, intel, Adobe HQs. DUH!

And another:

Sorry it is useless and way too late. It had started maybe last century. Unfortunately engineer overseas getting better and better. I used to feel we can do few guys work, now their quality are equal to us. AI will getting matter worse ...
I only hope my kids can find a job which not able to be taken away by people from other country or AI.

Please do the needful and repatriate.

Ignorance is through the roof in the thread here. Any H1B who’s present USA has tons of restrictions and additional cost. For any H1B, companies have to do a PWD, which decides whether H1B is getting paid a minimum standar wage for the role. Additional cost for employer is the cost to file H1B, lawyer fee, any extension for the dependents. These cost do add up. So, it’s not necessarily cheap to hire H1Bs. Also, if an H1B holder loses a job then they have to find job within 60 days, and the new employer should apply for visa transfer within 60days, else they have to leave the country. Because of this restriction, anybody who’s on H1B, have a fear of this, and go above and beyond to not lose the job.
For Americans it’s just a job, for a employee on h1b, it’s their entire presence depends on the job. And some managers do take undue advantage of that and exploit them.

We send less and less work to India. Mostly Mexico, Poland Ireland and more recently Portugal cover Europe (EMEA)

Completely wrong
All they want is cheap people and as many as possible.
Hardworking -India ? 95% of the Indians I have met have a Magna c-m laude diploma from the University for Cutting Corners. Extremely smart at that. Not bad at regular work.

They work on by the Borg model. If one of them does not know how to do a thing the first thing they do is to reach to all his relatives of friends. Most intense exam cheating are in this country and in its neighbors. Most hilarious viral videos on youtube show these guys. Most scams and scam call centers are ..guess where. Call me racist.

Cisco full time should have legit H1B.
Cisco contractors may have questionable status.
Cisco managers used to run shady business practices by hiring contractors and get % paybacks.

“There's no way that all those employed at Cisco are working jobs Americans can't do.”
Legal department does all the paperwork to prove above and are paid for it.
