Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I just got an offer from Dell in sales and strategy. Is it worth joining it?

I just got an offer from Dell in sales and strategy. I am worried about the layoff articles I have been reading here which makes me wonder if it's worth joining??

Must be lucky enough to to not have been touched and juggled with HCL .
Unfortunately it is happening and happened at least twice to divisions I have worked with :(

Be aware that even if the division you are in appears to be do doing very welll that the Senior VPS will make decisions to remove positions that all of a sudden are deemed redundant or somehow no longer seem to be a job any longer (just all of a sudden the jobs are eliminated) .
Spreadsheet list from above with employees who are older will be informed that their position is no longer there. You will told at the drop of a hat that your job is gone and your supervisor will have no input or say in what position is gone. It is constant at Dell to see people be let go even when every quarterly report the executives report record numbers.
Positions eliminated with real people (most older in age ) behind those jobs that are turned out to the street during a tumultuous time with an ongoing Pandemic. But this is how Dell operates constantly reducing workforce by
either selling off business divisions, or sending products and jobs to HCL. The HCL transfer will not be considered a WFR people being let go from Dell even though they actually are. They are no longer a Dell employee therefore cost reduced from Dell.
Horrible business ethics behind every job decision that is made at this company now.

I worked there in sales for 9 years. I was made redundant a couple of years ago, I would definitely recommend spending a few years at Dell. But do leave on your terms. Quotas are generally imaginary, management claim many things about how they are calculated. The staff know it actually involves picking a number and adding a bit. The size of the 'bit' depends on your relationship with your manager.

Keep in mind if the position is tied to making numbers every quarter, they will raise the quota even after divisions have been informed these are the targets you need to attain… don’t make the revised target no bonus and most likely will be let go from the position (cut throat)

YES take the job, health benefits, Salary , 401K match. You can always keep looking for something better , more money . Don't understand why someone out work would not take any offer, your not signing a contract

Glassdoor is not reliable companies have the HR groups troll the reviews and remove the ones they do not want to be on the site . Glassdoor may even be sponsored by the companies that are removing the negative reviews
